Fujitsu P Series notebooks announced, said to be 'snazzy'

Fujitsu has just announced two "stylish" P Series LifeBooks, and we have our hands on the PR drivel to prove it. This affable pair of machines come in "charming" colors that "endow both notebooks with a premium yet snazzy feel, for standing out effortlessly in a corporate jungle or a social playground setting." To be honest, we're more interested in things like the 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) display, battery life (6.7 hours under normal use, 7.2 hours in power saving mode -- which can be selected by hitting the ECO button), multitouch, the DVD Sharing application for glomming onto optical drives over your LAN, and the fact that they're both a mere 3.5 pounds light and just over an inch thin. The Fujitsu P LifeBook P3110 features a Pentium SU4100 (1.30GHz / 800MHz / 2MB L2 Cache) and is available in Glossy Black, Glossy Silver, and Glossy Ruby Red. The Fujitsu P LifeBook P3010, however, sports an AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 (1.6GHz / 512KB / L2 cache) and is available in Glossy Black and Glossy Ruby Red. No word on a release date, or on a price -- but, to paraphrase Godard, whenever someone mentions "style," we reach for our checkbooks. PR after the break.

Well gee, I didn't need one, but if it's "snazzy"...
Follow-up reports also say that it makes you "look cool" and that "all the kids these days are buying one".
Wait - that sounds like a different company.
It must be the trendy (although inexplicable) plasma-TV-style resolution of 1366 x 768.
0.5 hour saving by using power saving mode?
they sure it's not 0.5122 hour?
Yeah definitely worth a hardware button of its own
With the plethora of 11.6" netbook/notebooks being released, it shouldn't be long before I can find me a touch screen add-on for my Acer 1410 on Ebay!
CULV are taking over fuck netbooks. I never see anyone with a 1 inch thick 15' inch notebook anymore its either a netbook or ultraportable. In 2 yeras netbooks will have a core 2 duo ulv cpu I HOPE
What is CULV? I've seen it a lot in reference to netbooks especially. What's the deal on it?
*scurries off to Google in the meantime*
Man, it's been forever since I heard something from Fujitsu. Just two years ago, I used to rank Fujitsu as one of the best laptop manufacturers, but they been dead silent for a while now.
I have TWO Fujitsu P1120's, since the first one I bought turned out to be so completely awesome. (One XP, one Ubuntu). The fact that the P1120 is a TOUCHSCREEN subnotebook weighing under two pounds is cool. The fact that I bought it like SIX years ago, USED, is friggin amazing. The fact that the rest of the industry didn't copy the shit out of it is mind boggling.
These things rock. Its about time for me to get something with a bit more processor power (watching a DVD on the P1120 isn't smooth, for example), and I will absolutely be sticking with Fujitsu with another touchscreen netbook/subnotebook. (Even if I have to go used again!)
1410 is a single core... this is a dual core...
Why no nipple?
Not only "snazzy," but also "keen" and "the bee's knees."
Why does this look like a 95% match of my acer 1410/1810!
It is clearly the same machine.
I hope these are cheap, because my Lifebook P8010, which came out right after the MacBook Air and Lenovo's X300, beats it on most specs. It has a 12" 1280x800 screen, has a DVD-RW drive built in, 1.2ghz ULV core 2 duo with 4mb cache, 6-7 hour battery, and weighs 2.8 pounds. It doesn't seem like these are really much better, if the only difference is "it's more colorful now".
Neo MV-40 1.6Ghz vs. Pentium SU4100 1.3Ghz....
1) I have no clue what these are based one, how many cores they have, or what the rough estimate of the performance might be, say, vs. Atom.
*googles...*
Neo is single core Athlon 64, should spank Atom pretty good clock for clock.
SU4100 us dual core, underclocked C2D... should also spank Atom pretty good, unless your app is single threaded.
still cant figure out which is better tho...
All the spin on the press release nearly made me vomit.
"supported by Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator, promising you a plush and stunning display of graphics."
I can taste it in my mouth right now... Yech!
I think since Siemens and Fujitsu split Fujitsu have been out of the market. The fact they are obviously just re-badging an Acer tells us a lot about their current state!
Take a look at there web site and they seem to be positioning themselves away from being a hardware supplier and more towards a solutions provider.
