Burger King selling a Windows 7 Whopper in Japan
Confirming our belief that Japan is at once among the coolest and craziest places on this planet we all call home is Burger King's exclusive Windows 7 Whopper. Seven stacked beef patties extend your usual Whopper to over five inches in height and the whole thing costs an appropriate ¥777 (or $8.55). It'll be available for one week only -- or seven days, get it? Join us past the break to see the full towering size of this meaty monstrosity.

Update: Andy Yang, our Engadget Chinese editor, has read the smallprint and noted that in fact only the first 30 customers each day will get the Win 7 Whopper at ¥777, with the rest shelling out a cool ¥1,450 ($17.10) for the privilege. Way to break with the number 7 theme, guys.

I once ordered a "Quad Wopper" and they made it for me,... I had a really hard time finish it (IT WAS HUUUGE) this is ridiculous
I worked at BK, I used to make this for friends, and called it the 'Quopper'.
I used to love the Whopper over the Big Mac. Now I try to stay away from fast food. I'll do a Subway now and again. Anyone try that Buffalo Chicken sub? It's pretty good. Footlong 5$
Dude, did you try that pizza sub that Subway had for a limited time? I don't know why the heck they got rid of it. It was delicious. Freaking Nazis. Might have been, Jerod. Always blame Jerod.
Don't forget the large diet coke!
this better come with a STEVE BALMER TOY
Detox I have been scouring the earth for that sub. I have no idea why they took it away. But that Buffalo Chicken one is pretty good too.
@Detox
I always just get the spicy italian and ask for them to put marinara on it from the meatballs and toast it.
Can I suggest one of those to Steve Jobs? Maybe this would help him gain some weight...
"I always just get the spicy italian and ask for them to put marinara on it from the meatballs and toast it."
Yeah, that sounds about right. So they have the ingredients, but you just have to ask for it, I guess.
Most Subways will still make you a Pizza sub if you ask. I had one a couple of weeks ago, and the lady didn't bat an eye when I ordered it.
They originally took it off the menu because it clashed with their new healthy image.
But it's still there, in all its glory.
@DigitalFool
Thanks for the tip.

Interesting. I've never heard of the Pizza Sub before until I moved to Hong Kong. Had the pizza sub for the first time here in Hong Kong and you're right, it is delicious! So Detox, if you want to go somewhere where the Pizza Sub is still on the menu then Hong Kong has it.
It's weird that I've noticed that they make the subs better here too, they don't skimp on the ingredients like they would at my subway back home in the States. Only thing I miss however is the five dollar footlong.
A friend of mine used to order two quad stackers at BK and combine them into a single sandwich. I called it "The Ocho," an homage to ESPN 8.
Watching him eat that thing was probably one of the grossest things I've ever seen.
Subway first came out with the Chicken Pizziola about 6 years ago. They discontinued it after its feature "window." You can still order it, but they might charge you a little extra for it.
And it's Jared.... while he's a tool, he's no more than a puppet. Eat Subway twice a day and drink nothing but coffee and you can be just as tool-ish as him someday.
@Finnschi
"I had a really hard time finish it (IT WAS HUUUGE)."
That's what she said.
I really want BK now...
There needs to be a slice of cheese above each patty.
Yawn.
I bet 7 japanese patties = 1 american patty
The Japanese says it is on American sized buns. The BK buns in Japan are normally smaller which is why they are describing it as "American sized". I know the pictures in the advertisements are 'always' misleading, but if the actual meat on the burger is even closely proportionate to the image, the patties would also be American sized (not to mention it does say 7 slices of quarter-pound beef).
I read that as panties the first time, not sure why.
I guess japan, and panties just go together.
japanties
I don't know if I am translating this correctly, but it says "113g" in plain numeric text there. 113g is .25 lbs, aka a quarter pounder. If that is all it is, that is quite disappointing.
No, it is saying that each beef patty is 113g. Aka, that's 7 quarter pounders or 791g of beef patties. It is directly saying 'there are 7 113g beef patties'
The American Whopper keeps you "full", and it's "full" of of features.
Good lord!
inb4bloatedOSjokes.
No ben, it isn't.
What a gobsmackingly stupid thing to say.
Unless you were... joking?
Aha. Aha.
Nah, windows is the worst. I use it about 5 hours a day and it makes me want to kill myself.
Trust your instincts.
ben, you're using Windows 7 five hours a day? I don't think so.
But hey, don't let me stop you. Anything to improve the gene pool.
I am actually, on my laptop (C2D w/ 2GB). Got it free with MSDNAA.
Incoming downvotes by hype-buying gadget nerds unwilling to admit microsoft window's development team of a million monkeys on typewriters will never push out decent code.
Any company that can not only employ one million monkeys but keep them banging away at typewriters can have my business. That's some serious logistical jujitsu right there.
one word :YUMMY.
Wow!
And if you shake your stomach afterward it all gets minimized into your colon!
Why not use a 7 grain bun or something classy?
Ohhh, riiiight.
I want Family Pack!
I'm just as psyched about Windows 7 as the next guy but this is ridiculous.
You mean not at all?
Brits are freezing their butts offf to grab a copy of Win7. Ballmer is probably laughing right about now.

YO WHOPPER, I'M REALLY HAPPY FOR YOU. I'M GONNA LET YOU FINISH, BUT HARDEES' MONSTER BURGER WAS ONE OF THE BEST BURGERS OF ALL TIME. OF ALL TIMES!
sorry, couldn't help myself.
Yo dawg. I heard you like burgers. So I put 7 burgers in your burger so you can 7 while you burger.
lol, well played.
@CDice
Ugh... really? We still have to make EVERY comment into a freakin' Kanye West joke? This needs to die quickly and quietly.
I'm gonna have to agree with you there. The new "angus" monster burger is OK, but a little dry. Back when I started college, their old school classic Monster Buger, fries, and a large milkshake (pumped from a machine too, none of this "hand scooped" bullshit!) was heaven. Those 3000 Calories were just enough to keep me going through my evening classes.
dude you're right, maybe the comment with most sense out of the japanties and the steve Jobs burger recommendations to gain weight LOL, yes indeed that Hardee's Monster was AWESOME!!!! man i want hardees now, there is none in this side of the coast:( or In & Out burgers yeah that was good too!
lol WTF!
Eat an apple. They're healthier.
