Pentax's limited edition Korejanai K-x DSLR reminds us of Harlequin VW Golf
You Yanks won't be getting your paws around this without a buddy in Japan ready and willing to ship it your way, but those camped out in the Land of the Rising Sun can soon jockey for an opportunity to grab the most colorful Pentax K-x DSLR of all time. The Korejanai K-x -- which was engineered by the same folks behind the 'Self Destruct Button' USB hub -- looks as if it had all of its panels painted a different hue, and as diehard lovers of the iconic 1996 Volkswagen Harlequin Golf, we can't help but drool here. Only 100 of these will be sold, and it'll be bundled with a matching Korejanai Robot Model. Of course, the camera itself is identical to the standard version save for the paint job, but somehow we're guessing you'll appreciate this one just a wee bit more. It's set to sell for ¥79,800 (around $880), with orders being accepted starting at 10AM JST on November 2nd. Best set your alarms, kids!

Lego are branching into DSLRs now?
Lol I thought it was a Transformer Gundam.
@msgrocks1
gundams are not transformers but gundams are mobile suits
@xconon:
They technically are transformers though. Like how some transform into planes
I want one, hot as hell!
i'm running around my house frantically trying to find $880 worth of stuff to eBay... anyone have a good friend in Japan!?!
that robot has some wide-set balls
It aint bad, but my red GH1 is waaaay cooler, sexyer, edgier, classier, fashionable and bad assed.
Oh, and I almost forgot: it's a much better camera too.
It displays colors very well on the outside.
Clown Edition
Speaking of clowns ... nice subtle Kanye reference.
impressed you reference the Harlequin. Props to you.
Absolutely! Props too.
I got a delivery of 200 props for a Mr Murph. Do you want me to set it somewhere or should I just leave it here?
Haha, thanks guys!
Lego' my camera! It's mine!
(Awesome!)
Dare any D3 or 1D MK X owner to pimp their machinery that way! Place your bets, who on the DPREVIEW.COM forums is going to do it first?
Do want.
that is just hideous. and it looks incredibly cheap too, like a kid's toy.
THANK YOU!!! Oh my god that thing is FUGLY!!! It looks like a cheap toy painted by a blind child.
My eyes just puked too.
Woludnt take this even for free...
Or maybe free if I were blind and stupid but what would I be doing with a camera then?
DO NOT WANT.
I just threw up a little. However this would be great for a spoiled rich 5 year old.
Looks like a Jeff Gordon camera to me.
I'm sorry, but I think I puked a little in my mouth :S
White Goodman must be around.
I think I smell a stale Internet meme..
this is excellent and should be more expensive so I can feel elite while using it
great way to get babies to pay attention to the camera
If this were stolen, it would be quite hard to sell on ebay.
wow. I actually like the color scheme
Good for baby photos, nothing else.
pretty sure it still works the same for shooting things other than babies. unless you're a ped... creep.
The Harlequin VW was a Polo! At least in its home country.
Ah, just discovered that, obviously, the Polo was too small for the average US citizen at the time, so they had to make it a Golf. Interesting.
I was going to comment on this. I was like Harlequin Golf? That was a Polo. Funnily I had just read about that polo on Wikipedia a week ago.
US Market had a MK3 Harlequin Golf
What a funny looking camera.
Not really all that beautiful IMO.
OH FOR FUCKS SAKE
This has nothing.. AT ALL to do with the article.
On Topic: Sick colors. I want one.
Gundam FTW
WOW ...
That big camera can transform into that little robot?
It must be the same shrinking technology that the original Megatron uses to turn into a gun so that Soundwave can use him.
Science!!
Me like camera ! well I admit I like this camera's colors but (as there often is) I think I couldn't use it that often here since all our dslr camera's have similar coloring (the mini - "point and shoot"s are excluded here, since some of them are actually quite colorful). we always think a professional camera has to be black or some very very very dark grey color. but if you live in a country where nearly everybody likes robots (hell they even build a huge 30m tall robot for the 30th anniversary of a famous robot) and colorful electronics then this device does not look crazy or weird at all. If i would be lucky enough to live in Japan I would try to get myself one of these since there you wouldn't attract attention at all from regular joes...at that point i really wish we would be a bit more flexible and not just black and grey
Watch that idiot of a director Michael Bay use it as the next transformer.
Looks like an engadget edition colorware jobby
good stuff, i'd like to see one with something that doesn't look like it's for a 7 year old kid though. Very hipster douche-bag-ish
yeah, because everyone has multicolored DSLRs now...
HALERQUIN GOLF FTW! only mk3 golf i like, but its awesome. in love with my mk2 16v though.
and no one makes adult black versions anymore...
Urgh, revolting.
Black :prosumer.
Silver : home user.
colorful : kids and/or Disney Channel.
So, may be Pentax is preparing a kid division.
Toy camera, isn't it?
I did not read all the comments - but in case no one told it before, it wasn't the GOLF harlequin, it was the VW POLO hatlequin (this was at least the model naming here in Germany.)
BR, Markus
"Korejanai" = "This ain't it" LOL.
FINALLY! Somebody finally fricking got it. Literally translated, "It is not this!" It's a joke toy designed by the (admittedly rather odd) Japanese to simulate the heartbreak of getting a crappy knock-off toy. You kids need to read your old Engadget.
