Lenovo IdeaPad shown to possess Pineview CPU by FCC photo shoot
Remember that Pine Trail fast-tracking we were talking about? Yeah, it's for real. Intel's latest submission to the FCC reveals details of a new member of Lenovo's IdeaPad netbook range, and is the first confirmed sighting of the Pineview processor every netbook diehard has been waiting for. The documentation suggests an S10-3 moniker for the new 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 machine, which is likely to pair up that Atom N450 with 2GB of RAM and 250GB of storage. Click past the break to see the sticker with all the specs on it, and do make your voices heard in the comments below regarding that buttonless touchpad -- a Synaptics ClickPad, perchance?

mmmh glossy case mhhhh UBERCRAP
It's prototype plastic. You don't sandblast the molds until you're positive it's finalized. Then the resultant plastic is "painted".
That screen ain't prototype plastic, though; it's pure, glossy, low-res fail.... :(
God... listen, manufacturers... I don't want to see my hands reflected in my screen, I don't want to see my fat gut reflected in my screen, I don't want to see my (admittedly handsome) face reflected in the screen, I don't want to see the people behind me reflected in my screen; all I want to see is what the screen is displaying!
GO BACK TO MATTE! Jesus H. W. Christ, this is getting out of hand!
Fingerprint much?
That's hilarious, that's exactly what I was going to post word for word.
Indeed, they must have run out of wet-wipes at the FCC test lab.
Damn, they really molested this laptop...
I think we need a rape kit for that laptop!
Quick! Dust for fingerpri- oh.
Uhhggg...Still a crappy resolution and too glossy. Lets get some innovation in the netbook world why don't we.
That would require the hands of Apple, unfortunately they have stated no interest in the market so it appears we will be stuck with this hideous hyperglossed junk for who knows how long. It really is quite amazing the directions manufactures go when they don't have the beautiful designs of Apple to copy.
If you're gonna use a matte finish on the keyboard, you gotta use it on the rest or it will look stupid.
Case and point; this thing.
Way to glossy
I think someone had too many glazed donuts before trying to caress this laptop.
WOW... When is Lenovo Going to get-it and dump the GLOSSY Case and change to 1024 x 800 or 1024 x 768 and Put a Track-point on these little computers..
I Guess I Could learn to live with the Glossy case and MAYBE the Resolution if they would dump those Stupid Tiny Touchpads and add the Trackpoint it just makes SO Much Sense in a Machine this size..
This is true... on something small, there's nothing better than a nub pointer. It's a shame. I know I can even click and double click by bumping my thinkpad's nub. It's a great option that makes so much sense.
Someone at the FCC needs to ease up on the Lays chips.
So that processor...
It has the memory controller in the same processor die, so is that like the Atom version of the core i7? It seem like the same architecture in a low power version... and single core obviously.
Are the Pineviews dual core? Cause apparantly Intel released a dual core atom called the N300 back in 08 but still I can't find ANY netbooks with it. I would get my credit card out for a dual core netbook licketsplit, especially if they ship it with some Nvidia goodness like the Ion.
Yah, that's out there already (in pre-order firm, at least. Look up ASUS 1201n. Dual core Atom, ION, HDMI. Gimme.
Omg sweet. I'm definitely getting that, out next month!
...or not. 12inch screen dammit, you can barely call that a netbook...
I agree - why won't anybody put these specs in the 10 inch netbook? Small is the point!
..wow.. I would never buy that simply because of the amount of fingerprints that it proudly collects and brandishes.
this exactly why i dont eat potato chips or popcorn when im on my laptop anymore
Okay you gotta be freaking kidding me how is this spam not down ranked to oblivion. zhenglisheng09 step into my office cause your fired!
they couldn't have wiped it down for the pictures? I hate finger grease on my tech!
man! how lazy can the photographer get eh!!!! talk abt fingerprints all over a glossy base...that's one eye popper!!!
Yeah this mini laptop is crap, finger prints drive me crazy. Use it for business when I travel.
Where is the nipple / touchpoint?
Plus it looks cheap and crappy, plastics from blister pack packaging...
For gods sake how hard is it to make a daylight viewable lcd for netbooks?
keep the fingers clean with this one
Lets hope Lenovo switches to a matte finish
The Atom330 is intended for nettop systems not netbooks; and is paired with the much hotter desktop version of the 945 chipset. It's 10W TDP is as high as core2 based ULV chips which have higher performance; which is why it hasn't shown up in any netbooks.
