MSI Wind U230 gets handled on video, SIM slot found hiding underneath
MSI's latest (and arguably greatest) 12.1-inch netbook just popped official earlier this month, and already it's making the rounds at various shows. The crew over at NetbookNews managed to get their hands around one for just under three minutes, and during that brief window of time they were able to confirm that an AMD Athlon Neo X2 chip was within. Also on tap was a 500GB hard drive and a previously unannounced SIM card slot, though the €440 ($661) price tag seems a bit steep for "a netbook." Check the walk-around just after the break.

Dude, it aint a netbook!
You're right, that's a very important point with much bearing on reality.
Could be interesting at the right price. Hopefully it is just carrier unlocked and "works", not to mention at the right price... very attractive netbook.
My U120 Wind has a SIM card slot on the bottom...I cant recall if its under the battery or if the bottom casing has to come off, but its there...
Is that really a netbook? 500GB drive? 12' screen? I think this falls into the thin and light category.
@npa189
Dual core processor, HD graphics card, 2GB memory 500 GB HD with Windows 7 HP.
It's an Ultraportable Notebook not a Netbook.
Does she say it has PS/2 right after the VGA @1:55?! Wow.. noob.
@eddie817 She says PSU.
@eddie817 It is hard to hear, but she says "PSU"
"Really really great graphics card"
@Xudd
it has the same one my $900 touchsmart txz has so its actually a pretty decent card. I'm even barely able to run borderlands on it
monster cable sucks.
They said the sim card slot was optional. Not as good as my Lenovo S12 with Nvidia Ion...and a sim card slot
I really hope MSI doesn't use tape to hold the parts in place like they did with the Wind U100.
im sorry but the word or the class of "netbook is getting thrown around way to much!
Why do they put the right SHIFT key there???!!!!
It's AWKWARD!!!!
Pretty sure this is considered a netbook, just because it is a 12" screen does not automatically discredit that it is a netbook. Pretty sure MSI isn't going to mess up on a big fact like that. Other than that it looks like a great piece of hardware anyway. MSI is really coming out with some top notch netbooks! $661 is pretty steep but it does have a massive hard drive, any word on the battery life?
@fuberwil
Dual-core processor (CULV-class > Atom), HD3200 gpu, 500GB drive. It's not a netbook.
