Google Goggles gets video demo on Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
There's little sense in resisting the obvious: Google is slowly but surely taking over your life, but rather than get indignant and discombobulated, we'd suggest letting go and appreciating how much easier things are with the folks in Mountain View squarely in control. Take Google Goggles, for instance, which aims to convert cameraphone images into useful search results on its own Android platform. Up until now, we've been shown stock demos and videos of it running on conventional handsets, but seeing the Goggles hard at work on Sony Ericsson's not-yet-released Xperia X10 is another thing entirely. Hop on past the break for the frames you're craving, but don't bank on this making the wait for said phone any simpler to stomach.

This technology excites me very much. I am constantly taking photos with my phone of items to research at a later time on the web. As I will be replacing my phone in the new year, I will surely be buying an Android device to take advantage of this software.
If Google makes this technology available to other platforms, (RIM, iPhone OS, WinMo) they will make a fortune.
I want this phone. T-mobile, you had better be making a deal to bring this to your loyal often-disappointed-in-your-coverage-but-loving-your- customer-service-and-plans customers After 9 years, you owe me this. Don't forget, I knew you back when you had a mascot, yes a mascot and it was a parrot. Oh, I get the clever symbolism...but really? A parrot? So be a dear and get this phone and make it of a decent price.
Thank you.

Don't hold your breath yet. It has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and a 4" TFT screen which means the battery won't last even a day. Nexus One/HTC Bravo have both 3.7" AMOLED screens which are up to 30% more energy efficient. Not to mention firmware updates: even if the X10 eventually gets Android 2.0, you can only dream about new Android versions as there won't be any updates to the X10 (SE does the same crap with all their phones).
Google Goggles has easily become one of the most used apps I've installed on my DROID.
It really has changed the way that I search for items on the internet.
Eden of the East, here we come.
I'd like to see this as a method of translating what goods into foreign languages ala live translations. I'd thought about the concept previously but the the wasn't there in a scalable device - Now it looks possible (feel free to compensate me with royalties :) )
This is one hot phone. Basicilly it's the premium of everything. I'd love to see them do something similar with WebOS one day if Palm is smart enough to release it to other companies. Though I do appreciate and enjoy android. This makes the iPhone look like a caveman tool. Well.... then again...I guess everything does these days.
This phone is badass. http://www.x10android.com
