Why would you need more than 250GB in a backup device. It's not like you're backing up your applications. Music and video can be burned to DVD media for a longer term solution.
@FitFan wait, what? i wouldnt even CONSIDER buying less than a 500 gig external hd, as wouldnt most. even if you think you're not going to use the space up now, most people want to have the hd for long term, to make sure that they wont have to upgrade. for me, i'd end up using the 500gigs easily on my music, movies, and vacation pics. im not even 17 yet. wait until the size bumps by the next few years haha
This product is being marketed as a backup device rather than an external HDD that you would carry with you when you visited your friend's house. Hopefully you wouldn't take your backup device around with you on a daily basis.
