@wupolo
NOTHING happened to AT&T
@wupolo
I am extremely disheartened by the lack of AT&T availability news. I mean, de la Vega stated it would be happening, so it's *going* to be happening, but I'd like to get some information on the matter.
@wupolo It's totally understandable that they would skip AT&T right now since the iPhone is their flagship device. I'm sure they have agreements in place with Apple as far as marketing and simply won't give any competing phone the support they would if Apple's agreements weren't bootstrapping you. Personally, I'm glad AT&T didn't get the phone. I left them for the Pre a few months ago (after being with them for years) and am SO glad I did. I haven't dropped a call on Sprint yet (unlike the daily issues I had with the 'DeathStar').
@Padilla7921 they said it would be in the first half. so i could imagine when the Verizon exclusivity is up in 4-5 months? I dunno.
@Padilla7921
Dude, I wouldn't bitch yet--AT&T may get something better than what Verizon is getting. You never know what may transpire in a few months.
If only Verizon's plans could compete with Sprint (in terms of price)... :/
Well now I'm in a situation. Pre, DRIOD, Nexus One? Can't choose!
Have same dilemma as @Yoda! Trying to decide if it's worth it to wait for Nexus One or go with the Pre.
@Yoda Yes so many great choices out there. What a time to have my contract running out with Verizon :D
@Yoda
I'm going with the Palm Pre Plus :) I had the Droid for a month or so and then I ended up returning it. I want the Nexus One but since it's coming out so late and it lacks a physical keyboard and since webOS rocks, Pre Plus is a no brainer for me!
Screw you apple and your iphone 4g, im buying this (:
@cherryboom
Don't mind the clown, he's crying for attention, lil biatch.
so no update on the screen? lame...
@zerbmaster only microsd slot and 8xx x 4xx res screen missing. oh and tegra2 ;)
@zerbmaster
That's the major reason I'm now leaning toward the Droid over the Pre.
A Droid running webOS on Verizon's network with Sprint's pricing would make the perfect phone.
Yes, I am dreaming.
@joe23521
mhh, actually i dont like the droid (milestone) that much. my brother owns the milestone and frankly its weird to use, not really smooth. but sure, it has great features.
Looks like I'm getting a new phone on the 25th.
Thank goodness for this. I'm about to leave Sprint due to coverage issues in my new area and I was really hoping to be able to keep my Pre. Having to buy a new Pre Plus is better than not being able to use a Pre at all!
@Thanatos
you do know that you can roam on verizon network for free right?leaving sprint for a much higher bill is stupid imo.
Is Sprint getting any new phones. I wanted to replace my Mogul and was wondering when the new phones would be out, but all I am seeing is stuff for Verizon and AT&T.
@red71rum
They have the Pre, Pixi, Hero, and Samsung Moment that are decent phones. Both the Hero and the Moment are getting Android 2.1.
@schnozberry
I am actually looking for something slimmer than the Hero and Moment, of course I could change my mind. The phone that I have now, Mogul, is pretty cumbersome to carry(with a case on it). The Pre just seems like a nice size.
Well.. they didn't say that the Pre and Pixi Plus modesl aren't coming to Sprint.
This would be welcomed for me, especially when I get rid of AT&T for Sprint, next month.
@LiqwidZero
they did say that by calling them ''exclusive''
@skullsdontfade
Ahhh... I didn't read the "exclusive" bit. Well... so much for that. Here's hoping I get a work phone next month, instead!
The doubling of RAM is nice, but me thinks they need that yummy 1GHz Snapdragon. New phones, please! And not just "plus" versions.
Wow! A phone is coming to Verizon and it has more RAM then it did before?!?! What is going on?!?!
Any chance us from Scandinavia can get one soon or is it still US only?
am i the only one who doesnt like the fact that the homescreen button is gone??????????????
@qkrwldn90 How do you go 'home' without it now?
@Nomi Im pretty sure wit works just like the Pixi... But I think the way the button lit up and stuff added to the looks.
bummerasdgsadfg
@Nomi Just swipe up from the gesture area below the screen
Hardware is already outdated. Imagine how far behind Apple and Android devices it will be in another year.
Palm needs a ..... palm. As a developer who already has an iPhone for me to properly develop on Palm (ie. getting a device) would cost be $2000 in cell phone fees.
Do girls Palm it?
Really wanted somethings new but glad palm is broadening its reach
more pre's around cant hurt, but ill b damned if this isnt another weaksauce announcement. Palm needs new hardware to compete better. The pixi stinks, i cant say it enough times. A pre with the form factor of the touch pro (wide keyboard) would PWN! since they want to make these shitty button cheapo hardware versions ill stay away for the meantime.
sigh.
AT&T?
Sprint is Palm's b***h. They pimped the original Pre, and now that the upgrade is out? See YA! I've been a loyal Sprint customer, ( no problem with service AT all..for 8 years), and now, with my contract up in early Feb., I have to switch to Veri$$$on to get the phone I want, that was originally offered at Sprint...AND to add insult to injury, the poor Sprint Reps actually thought they had a chance, " Oh come back at the end of January, we'll have the upgrade..." Sprint worked its ass off for Palm... Wonder how Verizon/Palm will treat me as a "potential" customer..it all SO sordid and weird. Its a phone for cryin' out loud..if you have a business that sells them, you should have access to any product.
palm stepping it up for 2010
