@bluemanta HTPC's are all well and good, and it's worth having one... but, I'm also fairly confident that a single multi-tuning Mediaroom DVR would be a few pennies cheaper.
What we really need, though, are newer (and quieter) extenders.

Media Center with Cablecard supports Fios so you could gett all your HD channels on any XBOX360 or other extenders.
