Unfortunately, the most telling element of this Blu-ray news is that it didn't merit a mention during Sony's CES keynote, but a new BD-Live feature will be included on
This is It.
movieIQ Sync updates the
original by allowing users to pull up additional movie info on a PC or iPhone synchronized with the movie -- we're guessing the recently released FBI files won't be included -- without it popping up on the television. The other new feature is the ability to create & share customized playlists of the songs featured in the flick. We've been waiting for an event that would
change both the reality and
perception of internet connected features on Blu-ray -- and there's still
some hope -- but this probably
isn't it.
Blu-ray & iphone ! now This is IT.
@satish Does anyone find it ironic that the title "This is It" is the first Blu-Ray title to access additional content?
Clete2, orator for the world. :oD
@Clete2
Brace yourself for the upcoming s**tstorm...
@Clete2
He is dead because of stupid people like you ! you guys killed him.
Dont talk as if you were in the room with him and seeing whats happening.
He spend so much $$$ on charity than you all greedy bas@#*ds.
-
I wish he died after the concert at least :(
I'd rather have a Blu-ray of Moonwalker right now. The VHS is on its last leg.
@kinless You'd figure they'd jump all over this by now. What the hell is taking so long! I wanna see some giant robot Mike in HD!
Thanks for the heads-up, didn't know he made a new album!
" -- we're guessing the recently released FBI files won't be included --"
Anyone care to explain?
@Munk
Not to disrespect the deceased but It's all explained here: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/fbi_bares_wild_BGkXv1H17Twf2eKT0N8RTN
@jnm422 Thnx for the info, was not aware.
Don't believe anything published by News Corp and the "sensational" tone of this piece does nothing for its legitimacy imho.
This isnt the forum to discuss such topics so all I can say is Rip MJ. He made some good music.
@Munk
And making 'good music' absolves all illegal and immoral behavior.
Clete may have been a bit insensitive about Jackson's demise, but c'mon, where there is smoke, there is usually fire. Preying on young children is a henious crime. While I won't trample on the dead, I will say my opinion of Michael is considerably less than favorable.
@Jesse Dula
This.
Does anyone use these extra "doodads" they toss onto a Blu-ray? Gag reels, deleted scenes and the photo section on the Hangover Blu-ray is all I think people really enjoy.
Though I bet it is kind of fun to watch Wolverine: Origins and read a chat where everyone is complaining about how bad it is.
@grumpyOldMan Depends on the content really. If its something good then you'll want to consume it, irrespective of the medium. Godfather 1 will be a good movie whether its 1d or 3. Similarly the directors commentary by Robert Rodriguez on El Miriachi or David Fincher add's a value to the disc.
With something like this maybe the fans are interested in the trivia's or bonus content thats on there as opposed to the download.
who cares? HE WAS KILLED BY THE CORPORATE ELITE THAT RUN THIS PLANET, LET HIM REST IN PEACE!
@skaterdude
If the corporate elite were 12-year old boys, I'd believe this.
Henious?
@Clete2
You miss the point. This extra feature is as useful as that yellow goo that cleans your electronics.
@Nokia N900
Really? It wasn't the hardcore approach to sleep therapy that killed him?
@Nokia N900 Really considerate of you =)) He was the king of pop and that's why he deserves respect and nothing more.
@Clete2
Well this is one BRD I won't be letting my kids play with.
I didn't know they put out pedophile porn on Blu-ray.
@Clete2 I agree with you, he molested children and that's going to be his legacy.
That's is Sony, keep milking a dead man
I am one of the few who really wish "this was it".
If it cost 5 cents less to buy a Blu-ray with zero special features, I'd totally take advantage of that savings. These special features are completely worthless, I just want to watch the movie.
@Chefgon
the only thing I like about special edition releases are the cooler packaging
@Ade
I didn't click it because I'm pretty sure it's a scam.
@Nokia N900
And we all know that a free hand with charity absolves you of all your evil-doings.
MJ died two decades ago. Let him go already.
@sweet greggo
I Soviet Russia, MJ Blu-ray plays with your kids
@Ade
I clicked it.
That's not it.
@theinternetstom
To the uninformed, maybe.
@MadManDraper, why defend a man who molested children and then paid them off with mounds of money that fools like you provided him? oh right, that's why you defend him!
@MadManDraper
This man is a criminal and deserves to be mocked for his crimes. I'm glad he's dead and if you can't deal with that tough. He molested children then paid their family's off. You can be a fan-boy all you want but facts are facts. he molested children. That's a fact. The world is better off without him.
@theinternetstom
How is it a fact?
@MadManDraper
Let it go man, it's obvious that this is a lost cause. You supplied hard good facts supported by evidence and the fool is still spouting his misguided opinions like some end of the world sign toting homeless person. Anyone with half a brain who cared to actually educate themself on the topic at hand before taking an opinion knows MJ was innocent by now, this dude is just purely an idiot, and there is sadly no cure for ignorance. Just walk away and leave him muttering to himself ; )
@theinternetstom
Because I don't believe he molested anyone. His insurance company (not him) paid the first kid off at his protest. Jackson was under a confidentiality agreement so he was never allowed to disclose such, but if you read the court documents from the 2005 trial, you will see this to be the case. Obviously, your mind is made up, fair enough.
The second case I'm surprised it even went to trial. A mother who sued JC Pennys for sexual assault and coached her kids to lie, and just so happened to visit the same attorney who got the 1993 kid a settlement before ever calling the cops (during a time she claims she was being held against her will) spearheaded that, with the same district attorney who interviewed nearly 200 people 10 years prior without a single witness and whom Jackson wrote a song about in 2005.
