Never listened a podcast. Is it any good?
@RandoMonkeyz They're hilarious, worth every second, in my opinion.
@Kirtay +1
@RandoMonkeyz An example of something hilarious, bear in mind, this podcast was before the Apple press conference.
Episode 180, 55:33
Nilay: "I tell ya one thing, it's not gonna be called the iPad. I tell ya that right now."
I relistened to this yesterday - funniest thing in quite a while.
Thanks Trent!
Notice any fruit-related pattern in the second half of the topics?
I'm just sayin', Engadget, respect ;D
How long does it take iTunes to get the podcast, usually?
@Kirtay Couple days.
is "Zazzle" an internal name, chris?
:)
What if the Apple tablet was like an iMac turned lenovo smartbook.
iMac with touchscreen, battery, and accelerometer. Access to the app store. Itunes gets books and mags, maybe a subscription model. Be productive at the desk, or read a book on the couch. OS X with a new front row app. Kinda like a Macbook air, meets iMac as far as looks.
@S4Rs
Thanks

Chrizazzle.
It flows.
I totally disagree with Maemo 5 resembling S60. Aside from the icons it's totally different.
Agree the N900 is missing some features.. but too difficult to use!?
And similar to s60!?!? What the hell are you people smoking :-)). I never wanted a grandma phone, and neither should you ;-)
Geez they're going to (or not going to) announce the apple tablet or iphone or whatever in only 5 days.. just give the rumors a break, stop speculating, and be patient. I'm also curious as to what it will be, but i'm not losing sleep over it.
Wow, is that... BECK??!?!
From the descriptions it looks like "apple" "tablet" and "iphone" is pretty much what they talk about most. Word of the week guys: OVERSATURATION.
Thanks for the timely upload guys!
Thanks for doing these podcasts guys! Enjoy them a lot!
@werty1432k 1 more thing, I need you guys to know that you are pronouncing "Cydia" wrong. It's not pronounced 'sigh-d-a' it's pronounced 'Sid-y-aa'.
omg. there are actual specs of wm7 devices (amazing specs!) and rumors that actually come from reputable sources! Yet you mention wm7 for less than 3min but speculate on Apple bs for over 20? I'm aware that this site has a bias but this is ridiculous
@icanhazwm7plz They're great specs, I totally agree with you. But there's no WM7 announcement scheduled next week -- or ever, actually -- and people were screaming for us to talk about Apple.
We'll give WM7 the attention it deserves when it's warranted, I don't think you can fairly accuse us of ignoring it at the expense of the Apple situation.
@Nilay Patel Ok. it's your podcast lol. I love the site, i guess the amount of attention is justified by the much sooner announcement
@icanhazwm7plz
I love it when Engadget editors put commenters in their place...
Paul's prediction/wish for what the new Apple device might be is the best I've heard yet. Before I heard that I wasn't sure why anyone might want such a device, but if they make something like he described people will want it and they will sell tons of them.
I agree. People, spend 500.00 on an unlocked phone and get a cheap data plan. You can get unlimited data on several carriers for 50 dollars a month. Getting a two or three year contract paying 100 dollars a month for as long as you have a device in, sorry, stupid. The data plan savings will pay for the device in months.
What is wrong with you editors, how is using the app repositories on n900 difficult and inelegant I think it is better than an app store, you add the repositories that you want (which there are 3 maemo.org repos maemo, testing, and devel, you can also add the maemo2008 repos) but then you can search and browse by category how did you describe it as archaic, application repositories are the best way to push apps, because you can do modular apps where an app has a dependency on another it will download that too. I also disagree about the fact that it not really phone, the phone/contact/communications functions are the best I have used on any phone, with the exception there are better email devices
@mmoylan also you guys said wait till the n900 has 50 apps and then try I have 87 apps installed on my n900 and there are hundreds of installable apps especially if you pull the old maemo repos
Im having probs with the podcasts. "too many redirects" error in my podcast software :/
Sooo, this is a really stupid question, and feel free to roast me after.
How do you get these damn podcasts to load into songbird (The subscription method that is.)?
Let me get this straight...
The guy that wrote the review of the N900 has spent very "few time" with it? And the contributor,Chris Ziegler, knows much more about the device than all of the other 4 people combined?
Is there a Chris Ziegler podcast somewhere?
Please use a pop-filter before the mic guys (esp. Joshua), it really distracts when listened on bigger speakers with better bass, much appreciated!
What? You're using Flash but can't jump to a time? Wtf, ditch it, p-lease!
what song was the opening of the this podcast sampling?
@komey9 beck!
@Nilay Patel "I'll tell you one thing, its not going to be called the iPad" --- I wish it were true...
