HTC HD2 gets a spec boost for the US
Looks like the HTC HD2 is getting a little spec bump on its way to our fair shores: the official spec page lists the version bound for T-Mobile US with 1GB of ROM and 576 of RAM, a boost over the international edition's 512 and 448MB. What's more, it looks like a bigger 16GB microSD card will come in the box, a big jump over the 2GB stick currently bundled overseas. Not a bad little upgrade -- dare we hope that it presages a much bigger bump to Windows Mobile 7 before the scheduled spring launch?

Christ, here we go again..
@Swagger
It's funny, you can always tell the people who have never used Windows Mobile, or at least not within the last 5 years.
@Swagger That's not the truth, that's your opinion. If I said Android is evil, and then claimed it was the truth, you'd have to be a grandiose fool to believe me.
@Swagger When Ballmer said that WinMo needs to be fixed, it needs to be fixed. Are you done trying to find an excuse for your daft trolling?
@Swagger why is this voted down? everyone knows he's right. every review of the device says the same exact thing. if winmo was so great, why would htc have to skin it to death to make it usable?
@Swagger & iName: get a room.
Man I'd love to pickup this bad boy
@IcEWoLF
Probably the ONLY device I like from HTC .
@IcEWoLF Bad boys are always trouble.
@Nokia N900 google nexus one =? ? hd2
@IcEWoLF
Thanks, HTC. Looking forward to the HD2 with Touch Pro2 Keyboard.
@IcEWoLF - Yea but it gets a GREAT BIG FAT MEH!!! for still not including 850/1900mhz for 3G/HSPA! That and making it only available to T-mo which puts it on the smallest 3G network in the US will, well kinda gimp the "take rate" Yes? So silly!!
@Glodokboy
That's called the Touch Pro3, boy.
Let's hope we get to see it at the MWC in Barcelona.
What would be really nice is if HTC fix the bugs some time soon. On mine, it seems for every 2 amazing things on it, there's something uttlerly unforgiving wrong with it.
SMS messages not sending because they're stuck in the outbox sucks big time....
@Glodokboy
I NEED a KEYBOARD too !!!!!!!!!!
@IcEWoLF
yeah, wonder what took them so long to launch this here???
@MegaJapan
*Fingers crossed*
@Nunya Bizness
Actually IF there's a perfect (at least for English language) voice-to-text software, i don't mind keyboardless phone. But until then, TouchPro2 keyboard is still the best I've tested.
Google should take THIS phone and put Android 2.1 along with GSM 3G for AT&T/T-Mobile, CDMA for Verizon/Sprint and sell it unlocked.
Would be the best phone EVER.
@s1xtyn1n3
i have the same SMS problem among other problems like calls being constantly dropped on 3G networks, weather occasionally not updating properly and phone not waking up from screensaver status. my HD2 even refused to power up once even though the battery was full. so an urgent ROM update is a must
@s1xtyn1n3
Mine never does that. But, I've also done ALOT of stuff to the registry key to customize it. There are some updates on HTC Europe's site that you might want to look at.
Did they really have to make it any more desirable? Do want
@treats
My thoughts EXACTLY.
@s1xtyn1n3 HTC released a patch firmware for the few HD2 that suffered from that bug.
Mine works like a dream and I guess yours would too if you would bother to install the updatesthat HTC keeps releasing for their flagship win mob beauty.
It would work even better if you would head towards XDA devs. and check out what it's available in there for your beast.
@treats
well the htc supersonic is rumored to be the hd2 with android 2.1 on it with sense ui and 4G wimax in it too for sprint
@coyote57
We all know if every rumor about the supersonic is true, it's gonna be the #1 phone out there. And for a good while.
@Plexus I'm as up to date as HTC's support site suggests. It's quite presumptious of you to say I've not bothered looking into it. Especially given the last patch HTC released for the SMS bug was then removed a few days later due to it not actually working - it's all over XDA.
@treats I think ATT must shower them in cash to not make an unlocked phone with att 3g bands, For some reason HTC is afraid of att....
@treats +1 I agree this phone with Android would be better than the Nexus One but it's lack of trackball/optical trackpad would be a slight problem while web browsing or in general use when you need to select small text
@IcEWoLF
If tmobile lets me get this phone w/ their $80 unlimited voice/text/web plan I'm switching - winmo7 or not. I'm tired of paying $60 for 900 min/$30 for web/ $5 for 200 texts to AT&T for the iphone3g. I need to increase my text plan this month and the next tier is 1500 texts @ $15 per month.
maybe the HTC Hero 3 will actually be
called the HTC villain...
@Lessthantito Why do you need a Trackpad/ball? Just zooming in to select small text and dragging the page around in browsing works just fine for me.
@unwynd
Probably because as soon as it's released in the US, the never ending cries of "NOT AS GOOD AS IPHONE!!!!1" will begin.
@IcEWoLF
this phone IS a bit naughty :P
winmo 7 with sense ui on verizon and I'd be sold but the fates don't always work that way :(
@IcEWoLF

Engadget, I don't think that HTC is bundling a 2GB micro-SD. HD2 comes with a 8GB memory card according to this review:
http://gadgetmix.com/index/htc-hd2-review/
Can you re-check?
@IcEWoLF I cant wait to see what winmo 7 will bring to the table... hopefully android, web os, and the iphone line have forced MS to bring something nice to the table... another great option for us smart phone users. Another Details: http://bit.ly/htc-hd2-experience
Muhahaha
And so begins the "REAL" Project Black/Dark Agenda. ; D
@SParklingCYaNide
Here's a thought to really get your gears spinning.
T-mob gets a spec'd version of the HD2, using a different radio.
What if the reason the spec sheet doesn't list DL/UL speeds is that this phone has a 21Mbps chip?
@jon I think that would be Fantastic if T-Mobile's HD2 had HSPA+ 21!
Good god. Thats more RAM than my desktop!
@Needsahaircut
That's nearly as much ram as my sandwich!
@Needsahaircut That's kind of sad considering laptops and desktops these days come with a minimum of 2GB of ram. The Nexus One and HD2 both have more ram then my computer back when I had Windows XP, years ago.
@prewreckless Ahahahaa Yeap! The Nexus One and HD2 both are WAY more powerful than my first 2 computers back in 99' and 2000 lol
@SParklingCYaNide
My first computer had a 27MHz processor! Of course, It was really my parent's computer, I was 7 years old. But I remember it!
@Taylor Yes Taylor LOL! ; D I love it!
LOL, my first computer was 1.02 MHz, and I thought I was still "young"!
@James Sonne
Well my desktop may have less RAM, but my laptop has 4gb. So don't judge me! D:
@James Sonne Damn, and I thought mine was slow!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZX81
@Taylor Yes Taylor
My first PC sped up to 16 MHz IF Turbo button is pressed. I think I still have my "Romance of Three Kingdom 2" 5.25 floppy disk somewhere.
