He also takes issue with some of Zucker's other points, pointing out that Hulu dropped Boxee based on a request from NBC, while Zucker calls it a decision by "Hulu management," and he also points out that Boxee hasn't found NBC as open to negotiations as Zucker claims to be, but will be giving it another shot -- perhaps with some of that subscription fee cash mixed in somewhere to sweeten the deal? It's worth watching the short clip on C-Span and reading the entire Boxee rebuttal, even if it won't make you any less angry.I'd like to set the record straight regarding Boxee's access to Hulu. Boxee uses a web browser to access Hulu's content – just like Firefox or Internet Explorer. Boxee users click on a link to Hulu's website and the video within that page plays. We don't "take" the video. We don't copy it. We don't put ads on top of it. The video and the ads play like they do on other browsers or on Hulu Desktop. And it certainly is legal to do so.

Zucker: the most incompetent executive in all of television, who routinely gets rewarded for his faliures.
Examples: Greenlighted "Coupling", "Fear Factor", "Jay Leno Show", "The Weakest Link", "Emeril" and "Joey", and relies on reality shows like Biggest Loser for ratings instead of developing good shows NBC use to have like ER or Friends.

Mr. Zucker isn't really bettering his public image with comments like these. You would think with all the s*** they are in he wouldn't make such outrageous statements with nothing to back it up. I feel like he thinks the internet is out to get him. RUN ZUCKER RUN!

If I were an NBC shareholder I'd be calling for this guys head. He's driven the company into the GROUND with his terrible management. When he took over NBC was the number 1 network, now they are number 4. He completely blew the whole Late Night/Tonight Show thing, and now this? How much worse could he get?
Yeah, because NBC has been making great decisions as of late. "Let's try and alienate as many viewers as possible, I'm not quite sure we got all of them with the Conan/Leno/Fallon management überfail." I love you Boxee, kill NBC dead!
How can someone lie in front of congress and not get punished with a fine or something of some sort? And don't tell me he didn't know...even if he didn't he should then have said so.

How can Zucker talk to congress and not understand jack... Seriously, so does that mean the internet explorer, chrome, and firefox are also illegally playing Hulu content. Zucker....how would you like me to play the content. I mean seriously. What's next you are going to tell me what browser I can use. Then tell me what operating system I can use. Get your head out of your ass. If your content is being viewed exactly how you intended with the commercials you intended than why does it matter the way I choose to access Hulu. Maybe you should take a look at these things for yourself before you open you mouth.
Considering they only really have one good show right now anyway (hello, 30 Rock), not having NBC on Boxee is no massive loss.
Zucker is showing the same brains that he showed during the whole Tonight Show fiasco. The man's on a crazy mission and is showing that he's either not with it, or entirely not with it.
This merger must be stopped. It would be terrible for consumers.

I want to see NBC apologies to Boxee staff. Till that happens no more NBC content for me. Community is off the DVR.
The FCC is mulling an open home gateway standard which would end a lot of this nonsense (if done properly). It would force operators to allow interoperability with devices with their video streams (it wouldn't directly affect hulu and the like, but the effect would be to open the field for device like ours and Boxee, etc.) : Chime in while the period for consideration is still open: http://bit.ly/7M7Qd2
Does PlayOn have a license to access Hulu? I haven't heard anything about them being blocked, which is very surprising considering PlayOn's purpose is to allow watching Hulu on a television.
