That is actually pretty good price/performance for a laptop. Though driving games at that resolution is going to be hard. Even a top end mobile gpu is perhaps on par with mainstream discrete cards from two years ago. The res and pixel density does make AA pointless, which helps gain fps.
I would also have trouble justifying this, because a similarily specced desktop can be had for $500 or less. Maybe as a desktop replacement, and if I was working as a games programmer or 3d artist.
@jitters333 What in the world? What kind of RAM is that? Should be paying no more than $200 for 8GB and your idea of pricing on hard drives, motherboards and monitors is slightly off too. And why not go for a Core i5 750 instead? Still much more powerful than a Core i7 720QM.
@Shokz yeah you can find TBs drive for 80 bucks or so but raid0 500GBs would beat its performance so two 3.5" 500GB would be around 110 close eh enough an mobos yeah sure you could find a decent 70-80$ micro atx and as for a gaming performance screen could easily cost more. the ram yeah you could find four sticks of ddr3 for 220-250$, the i5 is a 90$ cheaper for close to the same performance still thats more than a grand
