Motorola details Android 2.1 update for Droid
Motorola already dropped word that Android 2.1 would be rolling out to the Droid this week, and it's now followed that up with some eagerly anticipated details on just what's in store. As expected, that includes full multitouch with pinch-to-zoom in the browser, gallery and maps applications, along with some voice recognition and virtual keyboard enhancements, a new 3D gallery, a news and weather app, an enhanced music app (with tabs for navigation) and, of course, the Google Goggles app, among other more minor updates. Still no indication that the update is rolling out just yet, however, although Droid users should get a notification as soon as it's available. Hit up the link below for the complete release notes.[Thanks, Jimmy]
Update: Looks like the details have been pulled, with the page now simply saying "There is a release coming, check back soon." We are checking, Moto! Thanks, Matthew!

Hopefully it will fix my email issues. Mail worked great until the 2.0.1 update. Then I get unexpectedly quit errors three or four times a week. It'll not work for a day then work again.
It looks like this information was not meant to be posted yet...

What about Bluetooth Handsfree Voice Dialing?
What's weird is that after I used SholesMod Updater and got the extra screens; I never really used them. One of them was left blank. I thought I would love the extra home screens but seeing as how the Android Market doesn't have half as many useless applications like its competitors, I had what I needed on the 3 screens and some widgets on the 4th.
When adroid becomes a well developed OS it has the potintal to put palm os and WM os in the dark for good, ya some people will stick with WM just becasue thats the only thing they have know, but with the assortment of apps, the open source and few restrictions on android it has a very good chance of making its way to be the overall best mobile device OS
Anyone know if the update will include direct support for google buzz? I can't believe it's a coincidence that buzz was released the same week as this update. I don't *want* to believe it's a coincidence ;-).
Anyone know about google bookmarks integrated into android?
Did ya hear? Moto has said they made a mistake and no update this week! http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2010/02/10/motorola-has-an-oopsie-android-2-1-update-for-the-droid-not-rolling-out-this-week/
In my short experience qith the GSM Milestone, the thing that hurts most - and that would probably not be addressed in 2.1 - is the complete absence of a way to set up a proxy so the phone can register in protected wifi networks... Is this so hard to implement?
It looks like the guys over at www.droidedup.com have at least some answer from Verizon. http://droidedup.com/2010/03/android-2-1-for-motorola-droid-rolling-out-today-stay-tuned-for-updates/
