Samsung doing a 10-inch Chrome OS netbook later this year

There's nothing to look at just yet, but Samsung's own Phil Newton apparently just confirmed that the company will be debuting a Chrome OS netbook in the near future, according to a report by Australia's Channel News. The laptop will be similar to the N210 (pictured), with a 10.1-inch screen, 3G, WiFi, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of flash storage and a purported 12 hour battery life. There are also rumors that it'll be running a 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, but the amount of straight up information from Phil makes speculation almost feel silly at this point. The netbook is supposed to be introduced later this year.

I'm looking forward to Chrome OS. More than anything else this year. Cloud computing really is the future, and Google knows the cloud.

Screw chrome OS, just wipe it clean and throw ubuntu on it. You then have a mighty machine indeed...

I'm a huge Apple Geek, but a cheaper Chrome based netbook would be a more welcome device than an iPad

With all the support that Android has been getting, why doesn't Google just stick with Android on netbooks? Acer already has done pretty well with this and their InsydeMarket for applications.

creating a brand new OS just for netbooks (you are lying to yourself if you think Chrome OS is desktop OS replacement) seems like a waste of time and resources.
