BeBionic teases advanced bionic hand, Terminator 5 now has a prop supplier (video)
It won't officially launch until May, but we're already guessing that the folks over at DaVinci are casting quizzical glances towards BeBionic. The UK-based outfit is teasing what it calls the "next generation of fully articulated myo-electric hands," which are said to provide "a range of naturally compliant grip patterns that provide repeatable accuracy" to those who have lost their own hand(s). Better still, the functions (speed, grip force, grip patterns, etc.) can be customized to suit each individual user, and the integrated wireless chip means that said tweaking can take place sans any troubling USB cables. The company's also planning to reveal the planet's first powered wrist with rotation capabilities as well as flexion / extension, and the range just wouldn't be complete without silicone skin available in 19 tones. Hop on past the break for a couple of promo videos -- we get the feeling the world of prosthetics is about to take a huge leap forward.

I don't think I'd trust my dick in the hands of an Robot/Android...
Is it just me or do the fingernails on that fake skin hand look really creepy? Look at 1:07 on the video.
@nerdherd Oops, meant to say "on the second video".
The day is coming when I'll finally have to cut off my hands and get bionic ones.
Nothing but the best!
Great, wireless prosthetics. Was at a talk at Shmoocon about these kinds of things. A lot of the newer medical implants are configured wirelessly, and have encryption that makes wep look like Fort Knox.
Robots looooooooooooove chicken pot pies!
i want mine in neon blue! not boring skin tones
Luke Skywalker is not impressed.
Im sure they will cost a arm and a leg to.
With all the effects it looks like a commercial on Repo Man

Realistically though I think its awesome that technology is finally starting to move in this category, a little flashy promo like this is what the industry needs to create some competition in industry.
This hand looks amazing!!! I lost a hand in an accident, and I can't wait to get hold of one of these bad boys!!
I've seen on the net that the BeBionic hand is going to be a lot cheaper than the iLimb.......a lot cheaper!!
Great news for guys like me......the iLimb costs a fortune, and the fingers break. I'm going to wait for the BeBionic hand when it's available in May.
I agree, the promo looks cool, not your typical prosthetic hand promo, looks pretty funky.
Love the idea of a neon blue skin!!! Why not go the whole hog and have neon lights imbedded in the skin!!
I'd rather keep the robotic structure visible than put on fake skin. Looks better. Just hope nature would be gentle on it.
