Well, it looks like MSI isn't the only company
churning out new systems in advance of CeBIT -- LG has now also let out word of three new laptops and netbooks ahead of the big show. Leading the pack is the stylish, CULV-based T280 ultralight pictured above, which packs an 11.6-inch display, a choice of a 1.3GHz Pentium dual-core or Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, a 320GB or 500GB hard drive, and a price ranging from $990 to $1,094. Joining it are the X140 and X200 netbooks, the latter of which actually looks to be identical to the
X20 model we spotted at in the FCC's hands earlier this month. Both of those will pack 1.66GHz Atom N450 processors, along with some other seemingly similar specs, but fairly different designs. Dive into the links below for a closer look.
same old netbooks different design... *yawn*
@BubblegumBalloon same old netbook hating comment different person
@shankeith
I own a netbook (acer aspire one)
I dont hate netbooks I just wish the specs changed around a little... like the alienware netbook! :)
@BubblegumBalloon
I kinda agree. I wish more PC makers would make "netbooks" with a low end processor, like the Acer AS1410. Dual core Celeron is a much better performer than the Atom. And the price difference isn't that much either. Plus you get a nicer 11" screen.
@BubblegumBalloon thats hardly a netbook
@shankeith The T280 is one of LG's first CULV-based notebooks and fits either a 1.3GHz Pentium dual-core or Core 2 Duo underneath a 11.6-inch display. Latest: http://bit.ly/lgx200-culv-based-notebook
why does this look exactly like the gateway netbook on the outside?
Maybe I missed it but why is this thing $1,000??? Is that HDD a 500GB SSD?? If it isn't....I don't see why it's so much...especially for a netbook.
@Plazmic Flame You did miss something...the $1000 figure is for the thin-and-light notebook mentioned in the post, not the netbooks which were mentioned afterward and without prices.
A lot of people ownas a netbook because it's cheap. With this price, People would rather have more bang for their gran than this.
Look like LG love gateway's design very much...!!

Looks beautiful but $1,000 for a NETBOOK?
@malexandria1
that is not a netbook that is pictured. It's an ultraportable. It has a dual core processor, not an atom, and an 11.6 inch screen. It seems pretty reasonable to me.
That stripe in the middle is reminiscent of the Gateway FX notebook line.
@DeanS I agree.
That is one sexy Netbook but.......
1.3GHz Pentium dual-core + 2GB of RAM + a 320GB ≠ $1,000
@Edobe
*320 GB HDD
I would pay a slight price premium if the screen was top notch LG quality.
But besides that, the premium demanded seems unwarrented.
Like the design
