Sprint confirms Pre and Pixi webOS 1.4 update coming tomorrow (update: full changelog!)
Just hours after we wrapped our mitts around what looked to be Palm's official webOS 1.4 changelog, along comes this: confirmation from none other than Sprint itself. According to a post on the carrier's official forums by Sprint Admin 'izzyks,' both the Pre and Pixi will see the long-awaited webOS 1.4 update hit sometime tomorrow evening. As always, users will see an OTA alert when the new files are ready for consumption, and you can find a full list of the fixes and changes just beyond the break.
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]
Update: Seems the post was yanked! The message, in its entirety, is after the break.
Update 2: We just snagged the full changelog from an internal Sprint document, which is also tucked below. For the spec hounds, the webOS version will be 1.4.0, while the Sprint Configuration will sit at 2.3 and the Build at 195.

Yay, i sent this in :)
Can't wait.
@Mitchell R Sorry for replying to my own post but looking now, I see the change log boasts "Notification Enhancements"...
Wonder what that could be :/ Nothing to enhance imo.
@Mitchell R
I believe they'll enabling the Blink LED Notification for new emails and what not. We've had this through a patch, but now it'll be "official"
@dscott23 Yeah, I'm still confused of why they haven't uncommented the code for New/Delete Pages on the launcher...
Some moves don't make sense to me.
They coded it, release it.
i have been waiting for this for 25 days exactly
@Mitchell R Nicely done.
My Pre is hungry, Palm...feed it!
@CRA1G
You have to give Palm's developers tremendous for the rapid pace at which they upgrade their platform. Big props to Palm. Now they just need more people to buy into their OS. All things considered, it truly is an elegant system even if it is a bit ahead of its time (performance-wise at least).
@Mitchell R I've heard u'll be able to change ringer sounds...
@Mitchell R
So you're the one who took my name.... Is it weird that I also own a Palm Pre and post on precentral?
@dscott23 there are a lot of "patches" included in the new update...
@hs2716
Hopefully you don't have the Pixi, or you'll be waiting another 2 YEARS and 4 days...the next time 2-29 rolls around?
Do you think this will apply for the Pre and Pixi Plus? If it does, I'm totally getting a Pre Plus!!!
@koolerz1569 Yes they are getting the update also. I would assume they would get it around the same time as the original Pre and Pixi but you never know.
@koolerz1569
Yes, the Plusses (Plussi? Pluses?) get the update as well, although I think I saw on PreCentral.net that Sprint gets 1.4 before Verizon.
@koolerz1569 I saw presumably this patch on a non-public version of the Pre Plus last weekend. Video feature was enabled and worked quite well! Should be down the pipe shortly.
@JerkyChew
Since you showed obvious confusion (and piqued my interest) I looked it up. Wikipedia says "plus (plural pluses or plusses)".

What is that background that you guys always have on your devices?
@ohjeez I second that.
@ohjeez
Yeah I wanna know too engadget !
Where did you get that from ?
@ohjeez
Might be a bigger version of this.

I'm not sure though.
@Shravan:
Yeah, it's eboy, Joshtops had it on his tweeter account.
@lamerz Listen to the Engadget Mobile podcast
@lamerz:
I'm sorry. Jack Topper.
@ohjeez Here it is: http://hello.eboy.com/eboy/wp-content/uploads/2006/02/EBY_Superbroncobattle_08t1-882x623.png
@Shravan NSFW! You should have warned us!
So the post at the sprint forums got deleted :O
@Mitchell R I think it got locked.
bout freakin time...first they say on the 15th...then they say on the 25th...ugh wen will the madness end...lol..bt bout time sprint steps up and says something...I just all this 1.4 lives up to the hype
@gabe2829 Depends on your definition of "they"... Those were only rumors to blogs and such. The only official statement said sometime in February. Those damn rumors always get our hopes up, don't they?
@irunfar22 lol hell yea...I mean mi gf b sayin how do you have a phone that doesn't have video recording...even the basic fones have that...ugh now ican rub it in her face tommrow ha ha...bt was this big deal over a led change??
...and the Pre/Pixi+?
For some reason we never got the last update to work with my wifes phone.
I'm really looking forward to "Random browser formatting bugs fixed" (I assume this is referring to where Facebook's full page now has text appearing in the wrong sizes and disappearing) and the ability to dial someone from a Messaging conversation without flipping to their contact page first. Flash support will be nice, I guess, but I don't see myself using it for anything but SoundCloud.
Sure took them long enough to get this update out!
@electrobrains i can confirm that it fixes it...
@electrobrains what's the link to get facebooks full page on the Pre browser?
@ohjeez
might be a bigger version of this, not sure.

What about Verizon users? =[
Palm C40 were are you?? I need you..
ANDROID UPDATE PLZ! (Remember the hero you sold me)
My Droid wants 2.1!
man I just hope GSM gets this update as well... wait..
there is NO GSM pre,
hurry the hell up palm, or else you re gonna loose a sale here
and in your situation 1 sale counts might I add.
@WebOn There is a GSM Pre. Just not in the US. You could buy one from Germany and use it in the US though.
@WebOn And Mexico... but good luck unlocking it. Rebel SIM doesn't co-operate with AT&T cards.
Anyone posit a guess how long it will take to drop on Canadian networks? Come on Bell, hurry up!!
@dpaul420 I figured out the (possible) reason for the last delay in Bell getting the update out, for 1.3.5. Each carrier has their own tests they run on the updates before releasing them to their customers. A bug was found in 1.3.5 that messed up email with an exchange account. Bell didn't release any update until 1.3.5.1 was available, which was the fix for this bug. As soon as 1.3.5.1 was released, Bell issued the whole update the next day. So I assume/hope they won't be delaying any updates for no apparent reason. Again, hoping..
That's good news for all 4 people that own them
Supposedly, its a world release, with Europe getting the update not a few days after the US release.
I can now go to sleep okay @ night. The release rumors were driving me INSANE. Hello 1.4 :)
It will need more than an update to raise sales for Pre at this point.
I sure hope "Improved Performance (Phone & CAL)" will make my Pixi stop lagging and throwing "too many cards" errors. I love the hardware but the OS is barely usable.
