Hey guess what! another netbook!
Move along
@yulebellow Actually this netbook has been out for some time and Engadget it just saying they have upgraded the CPU
The N310 is one of the best netbooks out there, I'm glad they are continuing the series without any external changes.
(I"m typing this from my N310. My third netbook, and by far the best.)
Too much money for a New York Times Reader.
I don't think an upgraded processor is anywhere near competitive enough for an honourable (yes i said "honourable"..thats the way it's spelt here) mention.
@kappachinoja
Yay, honourable! I'll say aluminium and aeroplane whilst I'm here :D
I'd agree, especially with the 1GB of RAM :/
Can that Atom N450 or Intel GMA 1350 actually handle at least 720p HD YouTube videos yet?
Yawn...
I have a netbook, I don't need it for HD, I baught it for school, that's all
@albinomexi
Looks like you have to stay in school a little longer ;-)
Oh wow, make a tiny version of the new (entry)macbook in black....very good design samsung i appluade u....not. other than that i like this netbook
@fowenati
The Go netbook came out before the unibody macbook, plus this has a huge unseemly Samsung logo spanning the entire lid (from what I remember at least)
@yulebellow
hmmm im susupicious of apple now. maybe samsung copied the FIRST unibody macbook of late 08
@fowenati That would be a double-negatory. Chiclet keys and flat bezels have been in circulation by many manufacturers for a while now.
Personally, I like the keys, but do not like the displays as they are far too glossy.
The rubberized coatings I have seen are AWESOME though! Scratch resistant, grippy, and doesn't turn into a fingerprint magnet like that glossy crap.
LOVE IT!!! =)
@Ducman69
Apple was one of the first companies to incorporate chiclet keyboards and those bezels. They popularized it. the rest pretty much copied. I do like the matte rubery finish on this product though as my Original Unibody Alum MB is scratched on the sides. I was just sayin that if not for Apple coming out and making these popular u could kiss all ur modern Laptop designs away. The HP envy series also copied alot. U could say byebye to the sleek case of this netbook as well. if it werent for apple most netbooks would be similar to the original EEE PC
@fowenati Claims of style theft are nonsense if you're not the originator. Period. Whats next, I have to pay homage to Bill Cosby if I make some pudding? *facepalm* xD
@fowenati Actually, out of curiosity, I did a little research into chiclet keyboards.
http://www.northnet.org/rayzor/cbm/116proto-1.JPG
Here's a list of devices from the 70s and 80s that used this style keyboard:
# Commodore 116 (version of the C16 sold only in Europe)
# IBM PCjr
# Jupiter ACE
# Mattel Aquarius
# Multitech Microprofessor I (MPF 1) and MPF 2
# Sinclair ZX Spectrum 16/48K (later models had slightly improved keyboards)
# Tandy TRS-80 Color Computer
@Ducman69
im just saying this, way to be original samsung. Chiclet keyboards werent POPULAR until apple began to use them. I never said apple created them. Bezels werent popular before apple began to use them. I am not an apple fan. i am just saying that companies should be more original with their designs. i dont want to walk into besbuy and see 100 computers that are very similar, i want to see 100 diferent computers making my decision to buy a computer 100 times easier. Currently very FEW companies are being original nad inovative with their design, Apple is one of them.
@fowenati "I am not an apple fan."
Of course you're not. You left your comment history public btw.. oops. *facepalm* :D
@Ducman69
no... i am not. Though i do admire Apples design. They are an innovative company as well as many others, but they combine design and innovation. I do like the HP envy 13" though. I like apple, but i keep my eyes wide open and will easily get a PC is one strikes my eye. i would NEVER get an iPad. or pretty much any tablet comp. THe only apple products i like are the MacbookPros,The iMac,iTouch/Phone, and the Pro or Mini. I can live without the accesories. But for each Apple product i like there is another companies counterpart that could easily take me to their side. DO NOT call me an apple fan. they are in my top 3 companies. Sony and HP are there too.
@fowenati
If you're not an Apple fan, then I'm not gay. I just admire sexy men.
I thought it was a gma 3150.
@Wowzers it is! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Atom_microprocessors#Single-Core_Netbook_processors
wow that's a terrible photoshop reflection...it's like the bezel is transparent.
When are they going to learn that 1024 X 600 is just un-ack-cept-t-bull! I don't care if it can't do HD video. I want the desktop space! (But if they'd get off their A$$ and get Ion2 in there it would be a step in the right direction)
@SolonLysander
Ion 2 is just as boring. Add Ion 2 to a netbook and you still have a netbook. Yawn.
@think before you react
my acer 751h is 1366x768, much more usable. if it comes with ion2, I can enjoy some HD video on it and even play some more games
$429 and 1024x600, NO WAY
Does somebody know if it will come in MintBlue color or any other?
MidnightBlue is boring.
You know the Mac fans are getting pretty annoying with the " Apple doesn't copy anything. Apple invents everything because they're Soooo innovative. Like the chiclet keyboard we popularized, so we must of invented it because Apple is Soooooo innovative. Hey just because someone brings a new chassis design out before Apple did doesn't mean Apple didn't invent it! They must of stolen the design before Apple's release. I mean Apple is Soooo innovative, they don't need to steal anybody's ideas. Much less buy companies and other companies patents, so they can gleen their technology. No Apple doesn't participate in such practices. Apple is Soooo innovative, they don't have to. I mean really, Apple invented the media player and the touch screen and the smartphone and the computer and anything else Apple sells because Apple is Soooo innovative. Didn't you know?".
My God people! Get Off Apples Jock, please !!! Please!!!
I mean for the most part I like Apples products they look good and and they do what they say they're going to do. Even if it's whatever they think you want to do. ( which is never quite enough or correct). But hey! I wan't a mac or iphone, can't afford one and quite frank;ly with there business practices don't know if could if I should buy any of there products just on Honest principle. Because just because you can, doesn't mean you should. And just because wnt something doesn't mean you need it. And if Apple continues with the limit for profit model they've been following recently, then you know what I'm thinking i'll never own one either.
Always funny that Apple fanatics make excuses for Apple when they follow the exact same practices as there competitors. Annoying and Amusing at the same time.
What sort of idiots will pay $429 for this? lol wow...
Yawn...same ole netbook specs...
HP Mini 5101 with 1366x768 resolution FTW!
Not bad with specs but I absolutely hate the Samsung for the horrible setup process. The models I had dealt with were pre-loaded to hell and required about an hour to configure windows. To add insult to injury Samsung has this partition tool that splits your drive for backup purposes. This tool is unavoidable and must be configured once windows loads(takes another 20 minutes to partition)... If I personally ever purchased a Samsung the first thing I would do is format with retail windows7 to avoid the bloatware.
