They may not be quite as sleek as their
latest laptop counterpart, but Dell's two new Vostro 230 desktops are both at least fairly compact and, most importantly, cheap. Available in both Slim Tower or Mini Tower form factors, the desktops start at just $389 or $299, respectively, but can of course be upgraded significantly from there, including processors up to a 3.0GHz Core 2 Quad Q9650, a maximum 4GB of RAM, up to 2TB of storage (from two 1TB drives), and your choice of NVIDIA GeForce G310 or GeForce GT220 graphics (in addition to the standard integrated option). Hit up the link below to configure one for yourself.
first!
Congratulations! Too bad Oblivion is all we have to give out today..
@ant506 when will this stop f5 addicts
@University of Pi lol sorry for the nooby comment but ive always kinda wanted to do the First! comment (even if i tend to persecute and downrank into oblivion when i see those)
I just test-spec'd one out. $1,058 for Core-Quad, 4GB RAM, DVD/RW, 1TB storage, a GT 310 and other small features. Seems pretty good, wonder how it compares to the XPS 8100.
Nice!
The slim seems like a nice htpc. Something to look at if the new mac mini is underwhelming...
150$ for a gt220?
You can get a gts250 with 1 GB for 120$ including shipment on newegg.
Same with hard drives,memory and cpu's(except E7500,E6500,E5400)
Buy smart folks.
Hmm....memory max out at 4GB???? Whats the point of getting a quad core cpu with only 4gb memory? I only see dual core system with 3 or 4gb memory, and quad core with 6 or 8gb of memory.
only 32 Bit os, that would be the max 4 GB memory reason... I wonder why only 32 bit...
@sohmageek
Artificial limitation to push you to a higher end model. I ordered the Vostro 1520 from them for a friend awhile ago though, and when I asked over the phone they were able to ship it with 64 bit with some jiggery pokery.
Great Dell just screw me again yet with another good price. I pay my crappy 420 more than that. Never getting another Dell still hate em' Next time I'll either buy a HP or build my own PC. Should of build my own so I can save money.
