@InternetExplorer Well, first of all, I'm not even saying that the iPad is better than this tablet, I'm just saying this is pretty useless and does basically stuff that any phone these days can. but it's a lot bigger and heavier.
And what can this do exactly what the iPad can't? Because last time I checked it doesn't have a kick ass display and doesn't come loaded with more than 140,000 apps right out of the box, ready to download. Oh and also, can it do word processing? And actually hook up to a keyboard to type. Yeah.. get your facts straight before you start talking shit, k little boy? :)
"Oh and also, can it do word processing?" Ever heard of google docs? How about Office Web Apps?
"And actually hook up to a keyboard to type." This thing has USB, so yeah.
"I'm just saying this is pretty useless and does basically stuff that any phone these days can. but it's a lot bigger and heavier." Which is different than the iPad how?
"And what can this do exactly what the iPad can't?" Run a real OS, run Flash, display HD content. Take your pick.
"Because last time I checked it doesn't have a kick ass display..." Last time I checked the iPad still used LCD, hardly something to crow about.
"...doesn't come loaded with more than 140,000 apps right out of the box, ready to download" So which is it, out of the box, or ready to download?
"Yeah.. get your facts straight before you start talking shit, k little boy? :)"
"How is a browser based OS a real OS?" It's Linux based. Also, the x86 CPU can run Windows, or even OS X if you wanted.
"And yes, an IPS screen is better." Than what? the $15 LCDs they use in netbooks. There's something to be proud of.
"Also how are you going to use your web apps when you don't have access to the net?" If I'm not mistaken Docs has an offline mode. If not, again Linux based, I'm sure such functionality can be added.
We've already established that Joe Consumer isn't going to buy this. It will be sold to the same people who buy WinMo and Android. People who know what they're doing.
Based on our past conversations, I know English isn't your native language, so I'll try to be a little more clear.
This is Linux with a browser shell. It's still Linux underneath, and has Linux's capabilities. Try adding OS X functionality to iPOS. It's not going to happen.
As for the battery life, for all you know this thing is so poorly coded that battery life would improve under windows.
"IPS screen is better than many things out there, and people would appreciate it on a media device (photos, movies etc.)"
The same people who buy a $3500 LCD instead of a $2500 Plasma, sorry to break it to you, but picture quality isn't a decision modifier for most consumers.
I think most of Google's services have an offline mode.
I don't get that, why would you install Android on an Atom device? Atom's only benefit is the ability to run x86 code. If you want Android, buy one of the ARM tablets, they'll be more powerful and have better battery life.
The Slate is absolutely more useful, but I don't want a 7" screen, 11.6" is my ideal.
As for the iPad, we'll have to agree to disagree, but as I've said, iPad people wouldn't buy this and JooJoo people wouldn't buy an iPad.
@pukerocket
I've been looking for a tablet for as long as they've been making them. I pace while I work and holding a notebook in one hand and typing with the other is a pain.
I want an Arrandale ULV CPU; an 11-12" screen; an accurate, responsive touch panel(don't care what tech); a 1.8" or 2.5" drive(don't care what, I'll replace it with an Intel drive anyway); and 8-10 hours using wifi. I'm willing to pay around $1000 for this tablet, and I'm hopeful I'll see one this year.
@jon "This is Linux with a browser shell. It's still Linux underneath, and has Linux's capabilities. "
Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that. Your wireless router is also Linux-based, but it doesn't mean it will ever run a real desktop environment.
The JooJoo doesn't have a real OS. Period. You might be able to run one on the hardware by replacing the JooJoo OS with some other Linux-based distribution (which FG may or may not have made easy to do), but that doesn't make what it has a "real" OS in any sense of the word.
During his WWDC keynote, Steve Jobs touted iCloud as a service that will sync many of your Apple devices, for free. Macs, iPhones, iPads, and even Windows computers can synchronize documents, contacts, calendar appointments, and other data.

$499 is TOO much to spend on this useless tablet.
@mtnDewFTW
You should tell that to Apple.

@Atkins
It does Flash. That's how.
Wow! Yeah dude, Flash is totally worth $400.
Because all the sites totally aren't switching to HTML5 for the iPad.
Yup! Have fun with your flash :)

In this case you're just as dumb as he is.

There's plenty of Android / Windows tablets he could have bought if he really wanted the. He didn't buy and, and he ain't buying this.
Anyway, nothing's changed with the JooJoo; they're taking orders. They probably need to pay back their overdraft

I should add, I want W7 and a slate form factor. I've tried convertibles, and they're not for me.
@jon The CPU, screen and wireless networking are 3 of the most power consuming internals of laptops/tablets/phones.
I think your combination is just impossible unless they give it a battery as thick and heavy as a brick.
@jon
