PlayStation Move bonus round: Move Party hands-on and interview with Anton Mikhailov
Alright, so you've seen the PlayStation Move insanity from the Engadget Show, but we've got a little extra treat for you. After the show we were able to play through a game of Move Party with Sony's own Anton Mikhailov, who actually coded a lot of the tech demos we saw during the show (some of them the night before!). After getting thrashed by him in mini game competition we were able to have a quick chat with Anton where we expressed our undying love for what he does for a living, learned the difficulties (but potential gold mine) of hacking the controller for use with a PC, and found out what sort of games he'd like to see built with this technology he's had a hand in creating. It's not to be missed; check out both videos after the break.
Big thanks to the guys at Gadling's Travel Talk for the video work!

Wow, the HD videos together have over 300MB!
@fperennes Actually this is the exact same thing than a wiimote... but in the opposite direction.
A the wiimote controller has a built-in 1.3 mpx camera made to find his cursor position based on 2 infrared lights "the sensor bar". The angle and the distance between the screen and the wiimote is then calculated with the distance between the 2 light points.
The ps3 move use the big light bulb as the sensor. The distance is probably evaluated by the size of the bulb in pixel. The can do it with only one light point because the camera has a better resolution that the one on the Wiimote.
They both use almost the same technologie for the other features. (wii motion plus vs ps move.)
It's basically the same technology. But you can't see yourself with the wii, since you have the camera in your hand. If you want to understand the tech behind the wiimote simply visit this site. This guy is a genius :) http://johnnylee.net/projects/wii/
Natal, on the other side, is something completly different wich I think has a lot mote potential than move. Something that, if developped correctly, can be used in many different way than gaming.I think than full body motion tracking by far more innovative than a simple pointer/accelerometer system. And people who compare natal to eyetoy simply don't have the knowledge to understand all the computer science behind that technology. And sony knows that, That's why they keep saying that natal is just like eyetoys to get people on their side.
Just a suggestion. To tape the show, use the camera that was used for this video, everything and everyone looks a lot better. Also, change the camera guy, because apparently he doesn't have a clue what to shoot.
cant wait to get this, it looks awesome! way more advanced than the wii and with the PS eye and hd graphics to boot!
