64 Boy might be the smallest N64 mod yet (if not, it's pretty close) (video)
Sure, we've seen more polished N64 handhelds (literally), but we're hard to pressed to find one that's more... well, portable. And its small size doesn't mean that Mod Retro forum member Bentomo's creation is anything less than featured-packed: 3.5-inch display, external docking station (for up to four controllers, stereo audio outs, and both composite and s-video outs), external memory / transfer / rumble pack slot, a charger, up to four hours of battery life, and a full compliment of controls. Not bad for a 65m x 110mm x 53mm package, eh? Interested? Our man is letting this go, and he's taking bids -- though if you offer him $1,000 it's yours. Hit the source link for the details... but not before you check out the epic video after the break.

Pretty damn cool.
At least its shipping, unlike the Pandora...
@SolidSnake
I haven't seen the video either.
I like iControlPad & Pandora though.
@Eli Haj
65 meters sounds perfectly logical to me
This is a great example of why software emulation is better than hacked original hardware. Leave those vintage consoles in pristine condition for future generations of hardware historians. Get a software emulator for portable retro game action.
That's pretty nice.
Portable Perfect Dark
@j4g3rb0mb3d
Best game ever.
Wish I had a grand laying around.
@A25i
Ive seen the n64 mods and I tell you. These are what I dream of.
@A25i
It's only $10 on XBLA.
@Chibi Chaingun I bought it on XBLA, very good "remake" and still true to the original
I wonder how hot it runs.
Oh how fast the Incredible's review was removed from top stories.... That said, kewl N64 mod.
I love it.
Weird how that "Sony" battery sorta looks like a stylized version of "Anus" from the side.
Ugh. How I loathe my juvenile mind.
@foxh8er2
Its even more juvenile that you posted this exact same post in the youtube-comment-section below the Video.
This is quite an impressive feat.
Okay, someone seriously needs to make an Xbox 360 portable....
@Joseph9307 There's a Xbox360 "laptop" at http://www.benheck.com
this is a clear case where emulation would help A LOT.
what's next? Portable turn-table walkman???
@kingofwale
that would clearly deplete the purpose.
@tylersmyler
it would also defeat it
I'm a moderator on ModRetro, I can most likely answer any questions you guys might have about this. Eh? Eh?
@eta
Is this an actual N64 or an emulator? And how long did it take him to build?
@SolidSnake Its obviously not an emulator
@SolidSnake It's actual N64 hardware.
It took him 80 hours over the course of 3 months.
@SolidSnake If you watch the video you'd know...
@SolidSnake
Sorry for the dumb question...
*places foot in mouth*
For 900 bucks less I can stick my 64 into a blender and then take it with me.
Nice socks. Hanes?
"hard to pressed" - I'm an alien, but that still strikes me as a tad odd...
I hate when I hear two screens.
@A25i
IT'S THE WORST.
"Just hoping endadget will post it so I can get some serious advertisement."
Haha. Nice.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emulator
Get one.
Good luck running that on anything this size.
@eta
Actually, some games run very nicely on my PSP that I bought a few week off of ebay for around 40€. Can't complain about size there.
@Stengo
"weeks ago"
stupid non existent edit button
I want to mod my original GameBoy into a case the size of my refrigerator and have it run off a steam engine.
Forget portability-- I want my gadgets so large that nobody can even move them. And then when I move out of apartments, there'll just be massive 5 to 10 ton gadgets on the premises, which can only be removed by tearing down whole walls.
In fact, if I just live in a tank in my apartment, who the fuck can evict me???
Okay-- I need to mod my GameBoy into a tank. BRB.
God, please dont tell me this was an accident.....
@Eli Haj I would buy a portable gamecube in a hot minute...
Well one things for sure... I know that Ben Heck did NOT do this.

A tip of my hat to the guy who created this thing.
Paper Mario is the perfect game to play on this mod, because it's the best game ever made. At least in the Nintendo realm, but there's always Super Mario Galaxy...
I can finally carry my N64 around!
they can only get so small until the cartridge ends up bigger than the console.
maybe the next wave will require a cartridge mod
Oooh, I dont know… its no Pippin.
