Android ported to iPhone?

If you're a diehard iPhone user waiting for a similarly-gorgeous Android phone before you jump ship, you could spend time pining for a new HTC or Dell. Then again, the Droid you've been looking for might be right under your nose. Intrepid Linux fan planetbeing claims to have ported a debug version of Android to the iPhone itself, drivers and all, and you'll find a thoroughly convincing demonstration of his bona fide dual-booting Apple device taking calls, playing music and even surfing the web after the break. While the iPhone isn't the speediest Google phone around, it's not all that sluggish, either, and with the iPhone's hardware buttons remapped to Android controls, planetbeing seems to get along just fine. Honestly, That's not what I want to see. They just put Android on a device with 1 button. What I want to see is port iPhone OS on a different device. That would be Awesome!

@staticjethro ya dude me too im curious why people haven't done it yet, the only thing i can come up with is that they dont want to be sewed. Im guessing if you port over iphone os you cant have the app store strictly because you'll be infringing on a lot so you would be limited to basic iphone which....sucks ya know IM NOT HATING ON THE IPHONE just saying minus the apps it blows and it has a completely different resolution. mmm i just realized I went on a rant, my b im high.

For some reason, I still dont find the iPhone hardware attractive....I did when it first came, but not its just played out, the new one looks much cooler. And iPhones hardware would definitely bottleneck this hack.

Dual booting mobile OS is a big win for the iPhone. I thoroughly enjoy switching back and forth between WinMo and Android.

Actually, the Droid touchscreen is over 2.5x the resolution and is larger than the 3GS' screen.

@thefox844 .. How ? .. there is no technical way for Apple to remotely disable a jailbroken system. They can revoke the distribution licenses for apps so they stop working but that is all they can do.

All I wanted for a smart phone was Android, I got the iPhone as a Christmas gift, said meh I've got a smart phone and ended up happy anyways. Now I'm happier knowing that I'll probably get Android booting next to iPhone OS.
