Nintendo's black Wii console arrives early at Best Buy and Sam's Club

P.S. - The "old" Wii bundle is now on sale at Best Buy for $179.99 ($20 less than yesterday), and we suspect this will be a trend that continues to other retailers as the new packages roll out. Thanks, David!
Update: Seems these are arriving at Sam's Club locations as well, though they aren't to be sold until May 9th.
I'll have to buy it so it'll match my clothes when my white wii clashes with my outfit.
Isn't this already available in Europe? Cause I'm sure I've seen one at a local Tesco 2 weeks ago..

Yeah I saw them in Sainsburys a few weeks back. My missus asked me why I didn't get a black one instead of the white one I bought a few years back. Should have got a time machine as well I guess.

I always loved how Vader's obvious life support systems have gigantic red toggle switches on the front, yet the Graphical interface OS in his red eyelid screen things is extremely complicated.
It's like he's goading people with his arrogance that he has giant bulls-eyes all over his chest that would kill him, that are clearly completely unnecessary even on a 20th century life support system on earth.
It's amazing to me that the Star Wars game series never gave you a game where you're Lord Vader, Cyborg Ninja Jedi, using your red eyes to target crazy shit in combat.

I said last night I have no clue why the Wii was released in white. Who has white A/V equipment?
Now my set up is all different kinds of colors (not to mention I'm using a computer desk as a TV stand), so it doesn't /really/ matter. But I'd have much preferred a black Wii even if it cost a few dollars more. I bought the Elite based upon color alone (and I found a hell of a deal, but I was getting an Elite either way...and I'm an elitist little bastage).

It's easy to see when your friends have a wii or a 360. Their PS3s do not jump out at you. Perhaps this was a marketing decision.

Me... netflix on wii is so much better than button mashing on the 360 or PS3. Granted, the TV my Wii is hooked up to is only 32" but, I thought Netflix looked fantastic on it, and as I said, the navigation controls on the wiimote are FANTASTIC. Haven't used Netflix on my PS3 since I got the Wii disc.

Gotta agree with that. I have been trying to get my wife to use the PS3 to watch Netflix for a while and she hates it. I got the disc for the Wii a couple of weeks ago and spent 15 minutes showing her how to use it. She was up all night watching shows from Netflix on the Wii.
@Nicnac I use my harmony remote to control Netflix on my 360. That wouldn't be possible on the Wii.

A year ago, I would've gotten an extra black wii even when I had the white one.... but now... meh
So why exactly is it that pretty much every gadget out there arrives early at Best Buy?? I can't think of any other retailer that consistently leaks these things like they do

Every piece of technology like this is in the store a few days before they're allowed to sell it, to ensure it's available everywhere on the release date.
It took them this long just to release a single different colour variety? Don't pat them on the back, folks. Poke them in the eyes.
