Microsoft confirms Natal launch in October (update: Microsoft responds)
We've heard it before, now Microsoft's Syed Bilal Tariq is repeating the October launch date for Natal. Speaking to GamerTagRadio, Microsoft's marketing manager for Saudi Arabia says that the Natal launch,
Update: It's not as clear-cut of a statement as we'd probably, but Microsoft has responded via email, telling G4, "Syed Bilal Tariq is not a [Microsoft] employee... He is a vendor employed through a third-party company on behalf of the Microsoft subsidiary in Saudi Arabia." Sure, that downplays his realm of knowledge, but it doesn't completely discredit. No comment was given as to the October date. At least E3's a few hours closer now, right?
So there you have it. While we'd prefer to see an official press release on the topic, there's little reason to doubt what you can hear for yourselves after the break."is going to be somewhere in October and we will be in a position to confirm the date at E3, which is in June, but definitely it is going to be October 2010."

excited!!
@sedo (jizz)Dam I just got these pants.....
@sedo Gonna get one of these for me and Bella.
Having to stay up all night while she sleeps takes it toll !
@sedo I am really starting to consider picking up a second hand 360 now hmm
@liftedngifted1
You can still play xbox in your underwear.
Oh dear
I just had my pros and cons of 360 vs PS3 weighed up then this happens
Bluray movies or Natal?
Why can't microsoft make this easier and ship bluray with the 360?
@sedo PWNIES!!!!
@DrDr yes you can ,and more you can play it naked ,and use other parts of your body,hell in the near future there will be pc version of natal where you can use it to touch and feel.....women from all over the world....via messenger,,,,well all while our robot overlords/skynet slowly take over.
@camroncake Because it's a big bag of hurt.
@camroncake
Because HDDVD is the Future!
@camroncake I think the next console Microsoft do will definitely have BluRay. They don't want to piss all over the people who already have a 360 though. And fair enough, I would be annoyed if games started to become incompatible etc.
@DrDr
If what happened to liftedngifted1's pants is what i think, it is very unlikely that his underwear is in any better condition.
On a completely unrelated note, time flies. I still remember when the thing was announced, but we were told we had to wait like forever to get to play with one of them. Now, it's just 5 months. And a few weeks later. Halo Reach. It's gonna be tough to decide between foolin' around waving your arms like crazy, or teabagging noobs in Halo instead.
Geez what a crazy gamer's Fall.
@David Bailey
BTW, You do know that Microsoft has said about a gazillion times that such thing is NEVER going to happen, ¿right?.
They're betting on Digital Distribution, no need for Blu-Ray. Movies are streamed and games still don't need it.
We'll see about next-gen, though.
sorry. That's exactly what you were saying. I misunderstood. For god's sake, Engadget, ¿when will we have an edit button?
@David Bailey
if the next one had bluray they could still use this gens DVD media games so I don't see how they would do damage to their base. It would only cause compatibility probs if this gen suddenly used blu and half the 360s couldn't read the discs.
@Fantastadon not a good idea, unless you can verify that it's the current model ("Jasper"). Most of the used ones out there are ones that have been sent in for repair umpteen times, and destined for umpteen more repair trips. The good news is you can get a new 360 quite cheap.
@Hamaki like Final Fantasy XIII?
@sedo
Been waiting a long time for this..
@sedo: ddaaannng, we WiiBoys gettinz an Ex-Box? Pleez?
Oh, and I'm officially decided that the 360 owns the PS3, and since the Wii's all wii got now, I'm adding a house to my trailer.
@David Bailey nah physical media is finished.
@camroncake
Get both systems and problem solved.
@blenderman345
That's right... you'll need all the space you can get your hands on... or in... when you get Natal.
And MS just kicked the Arab in the balls. NICE!!!
@sedo Ditto, the biggest question here is, with all the upgrade and features they infused with the natal, how much will gamers need to shell out? Reactions- http://j.mp/natal-time-official-impressions
wats natal?
@yauchildchew daddy of PS3's move..
@kwaan
More like child of Nintendo's Wii...
@babyJesus
Down ranked for ignorance and wii-fanboyism.
Can we assume a successful birth/delivery?
fatal
When that guy coughs at the start it scared the shit out of me, cause i had my speakers on full...
Gonna get one of these for me and Bella.
Having to stay up all night while she sleeps takes it toll !
@EdwardCullen Blade would kill you, and yeah I did bella soo eff you
@EdwardCullen
downranked for being a lame vampire instead of a badass one like in interview with the vampire.
@ravissimo
There are not lame Vampires?
@DER GORF
While at first mention, i admit, all vampires do seem lame. Upon further examination into the characteristics of said vampires, however, the lame argument fails in some, but not all, cases.
With the intrinsic abilities given to all vampires (i.e. live forever, drink blood, seduce women), one would think all vampires would be super cool beings. When added, defective characteristics of vampires come to light in the classification of "teeny bopper vampires", however, the lame argument gains significant ground. Teeny bopper vampires add so-called "disease" attributes such as "vapidness, douchey hair, and pedophilic tendencies" (a.k.a. Twilight Disorder, or TD).
The combination of the intrinsic attributes and Twilight Disorder degrades the species and lends more credence to the argument for lameness. Thus, all vampires are not inherently lame beings.
@EdwardCullen
downranked for attempting to ride a popular series into an unfitting joke. It just made no sense.
@EdwardCullen - See, there aren't usually a ton of pre-teen girls that check this site regularly, so you're not going to be well liked. Just go impale yourself on a wooden stake somewhere, k?
it works with the Courier too!
@Xbox
Take a joke...
Alhamdullilah....
Uhh compined with the 3D we saw earlier .. godlike machine :D!!
I think playstation move is the best of all three console motion controllers. It's like natal and Wii combined, plus I like having an actual controller to shoot people with than using my fingers going bang bang like a 3 year old.
@jordanbiffle Nah, Move isn't anything like Natal I think. It's just Wii HD. Natal actually tracks your body. And I think they could easily make prop controllers like Nintendo do for tactile feedback. It's a lot cheaper than Move too. It's all just opinions though, I'm sure there will be great games for both.
@jordanbiffle
PS Move is nothing like Natal its completely different tech, the move doesn't measure full body volume also Natal doesn't rely on batteries and bluetooth like the PS Move, the ps3 only supports seven bluetooth devices, the complete controller for the Move is two separate bluetooth components, so that only makes for a max of three people playing at a time. The only thing the Move has in common with Project Natal is that one of the components involved is a camera. The Move is more like a quality predecessor to the Wiimote and nunchuck having the same overall principle with better technology and excluding wires, now if Sony had dongled the secondary controller (like the Wiimote and nunchuck) you'd end up with a remedy for the seven bluetooth devices issue however I understand why they didn't want wires. Don't try and piss on peoples parades by making statements how the Move is "Like natal and Wii combined" because its not. M$ is taking a big step out in doing this as they're trying to make this an experience and treating it like a console launch while Sony is making an effort to cash in on a gimmick by churning its consumers with peripherals like Nintendo has done for profit. The entry level Move package was announced at under 100.00 USD. Now the PS Eye is currently retailing for 40.00 add in the two controllers components you'll need for the full experience and repeat the process minus the PS Eye and the churning begins. I don't know what M$ plans to do about the lack of buttons but they have engineers who make a lot of money to figure out the workaround for things like that, go ahead a tell yourself the Move is like Natal .if it makes you feel better and before you call me biased please note I own all three consoles.
P.S. Saudi gamers rule!
@misterhearn Holy wall of text, motherfucker.
@jordanbiffle
Actually, since Natal is capable of recognizing real-world objects and integrate them into the game, you could -in theory- go to a Toys r' US, get a toy gun, and use it as a controller in a Shooter.
Or you could even go to an armery, get a real 9mm beretta, and play the shortest team deathmatch ever, adding the most awesome excuse to buy one of those fancy new 3D LCDs.
@misterhearn
you lost me at M$ and no paragraphs.
@misterhearn buttons--->gestures, open a door-open it. Pick up-pick up. Natal gen horror games if done correctly will blow minds.
ok now..can we see some demos of actual game than this http://bit.ly/aXn0Y2
It's not a game device, it's a chubby chaser. Give me 100 push up and 300 jumping jacks.
