Reports over at precentral say that at&t staff do NOT know about the phone, keep pushing the iPhone are were given VERY few sets to actually sell per store.
Of course, these are anecdotes... shame... Palm? at&t?
iPhone & android > WebOS?
Must be kidding... (apps and hardware... not OS-wise)
woooo the wait is finally over!!!!! i got my webOS fix as soon at the door opened! :D
I wonder what HP is going to do with palm, I dont think the pre will be popular with at&t especially since its overshadowed by the evo
I get the feeling that this is just another token smart phone like the Backflip that is just there to make you think you have choice at AT&T. They don't seem to want anything to compete, let alone challenge their precious iPhone. If you want a smart phone on AT&T right now, you have the following choices.
1.Motorola Backflip – runs an old version of Android and has the worst design of any phone (inverse clam shell)
2.Palm Pre Plus - $120 cheaper with better features on Verison and is a relatively old phone. Verison has had it for a while now.
3.Blackberry (Any) – Why pay $30/month for data on AT&T when other carriers only charge $15.
4.iPhone – New version refresh every July with the best app support out there.
Come on AT&T! Bring something along to give us some real choice here. Maybe Windows Phone 7 will be that. We'll see.
@Frogboy AT&T doesn't make phones, so instead of demanding AT&T to give you choice, ask the manufactures (eg. the d0uche HTC) to make their phones with 850 3G band support.
@pika2000
Well, I didn't say anything about them making a phone although I believe that they own Pantech (not that they make smart phones). I was talking more about them procurring a better phone selection. I just get the impression that they purposely bring in substandard alternatives to the iPhone so that you'll either upgrade to it next time or possibly even trade up before your 30 day grace period is over. All of their eggs seem to be in the ibasket and they'll try to sell that to you even if you're looking at the dumbest of dumb phones. A good Android handset would be a really hot seller on AT&T since they don't have one and have never had one as of yet. I'm sure they could've acquired one by now if they wanted to. I doubt that cell phone manufacturers can just make a phone and tell AT&T that they are going to sell it without some kind of up front agreement.
So I just took a stroll over to the Att site to see the pre's placement....
Despite it being a BRAND NEW release it's still near the very bottom of the devices page...I had to cmmnd + f to find it as I didn't notice it in a quick scroll down.
But guess what single phone year old phone has an entire row dedicated to it at the very top?
Bastardizing Android and hiding WebOS, nice to see Att embracing the competition.
@Spaceshipped
*guess what single year old phone.
Please add an edit button, even if it's only open for 5 minutes.

Only an idiot who can't make a single intelligent comment would click on this article, possibly read it, and waste their time posting on how other people are little boys for finding this important.
Went to get one today, and the stupid store has six pres in stock and no touchstone chargers. None of the reps or the manager for that matter even knew about the promotionfor that matter.
AT&T is fast becoming an also-ran. When a one-year old phone becomes news on a network, it's time to dump it.
sent from my new att pre plus.
I'm in love!
Man I really like the Pixi Plus' form factor. I would only wish that the hardware was better. I would get the Pixi Plus over the Pre Plus if it had some better specs.
From what I looked up, I can't find out how much RAM the Pixi has. But it has a 600MHz processor, same as the iPhone 3GS and it's added WiFi. But I would just make it a little taller w/ a bigger screen and add a MicroSD Slot too.
webos is the greatest.
After playing with Pre Plus for a while.... It was quite obvious that Palm knew their stuff. I mean, the WebOS felt way ahead of iPhone and Android OS. All they need to do now is throw some cash and give it the marketing it needs and a better hardware like HTC phones. I think I m pretty sure everybody here will
You mean the HP Pre Plus.....
Is there any chance T-Mo will carry Palm Pre and Pixi Plus?
