@Colours Damn right. I am going to get this phone June 8th. When my contract up, a little negotiation with Sprint, and I will probably have it for free =]
@IEngadget yeah as a person who has used an iPhone i would contend that its os is terrible... its literally just a never ending field of tiles, what is special about that? Its so banal and lacking that to ME (me personally) it was almost unusable, thank god for HTC and sense UI for giving me what i was missing when i had the iPhone... OS is personal taste and for me Android owns iPhone
@fourzero40 i think its starting to catch on that the iPhone is no longer the industry standard, while still ridiculously popular and trendy its hardware is slowly slipping to the back of the pack... also Job's ridiculous hate of flash is leaving a key feature off their one phone... we all know HTML5 is the future but were not living in 2014 so what good is it to us?
@BrianH ^^ How do you know where things are on Android's multiple home screens and separate "all programs" launcher? It's more customizable but still has basically the same fundamental problem that the end user has to be able to keep track of the apps they've installed. Or in both cases you could simply use the search function on iPhone or Android.
@tchatterton6 what about 4.0? i had it on my jailbroken phone... multitasking, folders, my background changed every 15 seconds and yet i still found myself staring at it bored as hell with what i saw... as a designer i cant take the endless tile scheme seriously, nor the fact that they refer to task switching as "multitasking" it is not
@tklr08 "I am going to get this phone June 8th. When my contract up, a little negotiation with Sprint, and I will probably have it for free =]"
Ya, if you don't have trouble finding them on the 8th. From the reviews, it sounds like this one might have some heat on it. Anyone lining up to get one? :D
@Colours I hope that the engadget people know that you can actually turn off the sense UI and get the stock android skin that they were desiring in the review. There is a Youtube video out that showed in 2 steps how to turn off the sense UI and get the desired skin
i already have switched to sprint, so all i have left to do, is buy this phone on june 4
@Colours Specswise HTC EVO 4G is currently the superphone for Android smartphones. We love android, I can't see any reason why any tech savvy-citizen wouldn't? http://j.mp/4g-by-evo-amazing-matchup
I can't wait to see the EVO have that Froyo blessing.
@SteveyAyo This is so true Jobs is once again proving the point that apples anti big brother campaign with the first mac was a lie.... and then the Evo was born with all its animals gathering near a small cloud opened up to shine light on it...
@SteveyAyo I agree on the apple policy points, but the iPhone (3GS) still has the fastest GPU out there. Luckily it seems newer android/snapdragon sets have gotten the hang of the chip, and the UI's are mostly as reponsive as the 3GS's. In any case the EVO seems to kick ass in general :)
@SteveyAyo I totally agree. I was shocked that iPad didn't support Flash- It makes no sense at this time- a few years from now, yes. Anyway, It's funny how these comments are almost a facsimile of when the Nexus One came out, and now everyone's like-'Nexus what? Oh THAT dinosaur? WhatEVER! ' . Damn 21st century tech is rolling along faster and faster. :D
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
And I'm sold.
@Colours
Totally Agreed

@Colours
I've noticed that in articles like this, the first comment which doesn't say "first" get up-ranked. Enjoy your day, sir.
@Colours Thanks engadget, have to skimp on beer for a month now to get this phone, so sexy!
@Colours
Give me your knowledge as to how you are sold on this after 1 minute.
@Colours Simply Outstanding.
@ddddd
I've just read this article for the fourth time I'm sooo excited! Here's to the fifth!!!
1 word:
ZOMGZ!
@Colours I'm having another 4Gasim...
@Colours My precious!
@tklr08 Gettin' it June 22nd when I can upgrade my phone :D
@Colours
I think most of us were sold when we just heard about it the first time.
"Let us be crystal clear: we love this phone. Nay, we adore it. But the fact remains that it's still very much an Android device"
Therein lies the problem: Great specs, terrible OS, no thanks.
iPhone FTW.

(Course, I'll have to move to Chicago first......)
@IEngadget
your avatar implies that you really are on crack...
@Colours me too!!!!
@SteveyAyo
Agreed, i never understood the appeal of the iPhones OS, it's so boring and unorganized, how do know whats where among 5 pages of tiles.
Ugh, drives me insane.
@abedinthehouse Not one single use of the word iPhone in this review. That's amazing.
@Colours I am sold also....but um @engadget can you plz tell me the quality of the front facing camera?!?!?!
@tklr08 Please explain this negotiation... I would like to do the same :)
@MastaYoda the article said it wouldnt be ready to review for a week or two, the Qik app wasnt quite ready yet
@HipHopIsLyfe37 if your upgrade is the 22nd then you should be able to upgrade the first of that month!
@BrianH Hello? OS 4? BTW, I know Android can multitask, but I really think that the pull down window is SO obtrusive.
@Colours pre-ordered mine last week
@tchatterton6 what's the connection of multitasking and top bar? No tasks are in there dont see what the correlation is. Except music.
@jxc i just precame all over myself
and...
it feels damn good
evo!!
I'm not sure if any of you watched the first video.. Why don't you "sit back and relax and take off your pants" 2:35
@BrianH

@HipHopIsLyfe37
You can get it June 4th... doesn't matter what day of the month you bought your last phone, your upgrade trips on the 1st.

@ddddd wow that guy is so old, crusty and boring .. god why doesnt he just shut up

@(Unverified) The programs are in alphabetical order in the launcher, quite easy to keep track of...
