ASUS Lamborghini VX6 and VX7 peel out with NVIDIA Ion 2 and Core i7, respectively
ASUS may have spent most of its Computex press conference talking tablets and pads, but the company is definitely descending on the show with some new laptops. The 11.6-inch Lamborghini VX6 and 15.6-inch VX7 are amongst the most eye catching -- ASUS has redesigned the premium systems with new glossy casing, sleek automotive adornments, chiclet keyboards and a Bang & Olfsen ICE power sound system. We're totally swooning over the smaller VX6, which packs a dual-core Atom D525 processor, USB 3.0 and NVIDIA Ion 2 graphics, though the higher end Core i7 VX7 and its NVIDIA "enthusiast graphics" sound pretty darn good as well. No word on when these bad boys will be going from zero to sixty to a store near you, but given the fact that the systems at the show didn't boot we're going to go with a not very soon. We'll let you know when we hear more, but you'll certainly want to check out the beauty shots of these puppies below.

ooooooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkk
You know somethings wrong when those red lights turn on...
@mark29
This would have went really well with my Knight Rider Big Wheels Bike when I was 5.
LOL
@soorma You know something's wrong if your computer has headlights at all... Why, oh why do Asus not have a single decent design?
@mark29
I would get this.
I think it's pretty cool, adds some flair and design. Not for everyone sure, but defo appeal to many. Good job!
@Lashoutdancingwhenyouregone
The VX6 looks awesome, check the gallery
@Lashoutdancingwhenyouregone
I'd get it. It's actually pretty cool. Looks like a gaming laptop.
@Almo I agree. Looks pretty good to me. The specs are pretty good and, being a car enthusiast, I have to admit I'd be very tempted to grab the VX7. It all depends on final price.
Knightrider would NOT use this thing.
@Lashoutdancingwhenyouregone Whoahhhhhhh there. This isn't the nicest looking laptop, but to say that ASUS doesn't have a single good design is taking things way too far. ASUS has some of the nicest designs in the industry--check out older Lamborghini models, the G7 series, etc.
I personally own a W3J, and I still think it's amazing after many years.
@Lashoutdancingwhenyouregone what would be dumb is if you could not turn them off.
@demonicpascal Looks better, but not exactly my case either.
To give you a hint what I like, design-wise: I like the new HP's (note: only from the outside, but I hate those glossy screens on all the consumer offerings); I like my T Series Thinkpad (small touchpad is awful, screen viewing angles are pretty bad); Macbooks are nice, but after you've seen a couple hundred, they're just bland; Acer Aspire Timelines for the most part are nice (except for the glossy screen of course).
I sicked a little in my mouth
@Wolfticket
I'm sure most 8 year olds would love it in their room though. Next to their bed that also looks like a broom broom car.
@Wolfticket Boy I cant agree with you more...
It looks like a toy computer. Instead of looking like a gaming machine looks more like a transformer-anabolized-super-calculator.
No thanks.
VROOM! VROOM!
@thaprinze
dat ass :)
I never much liked these Lamborghini editions to begin with, but at least the earlier ones had some different stylings to them, what with being adorned in a leather shell and all. But these look just like generic cheap glossy plastic laptops.
If the i7 version ends up costing more than the Asus G73jh, we've got problems.
Does anybody really want a laptop that looks like that...? Talk about tacky..
@TheTabe
yes i want it
@TheTabe
I would buy it if the part with Lamborghini logo was actually a VHS player... which it most definitely is.
I though it was photoshoped of previous version of vx5.... it looks like KIRF to me.. I would point and laugh at someone with a laptop like that..
effin' ugly.
There is no Bang and Olufsen in that laptop, Icepower is a independent company. B&O does not sell amplifers ;)
@Techtrino Nope... Icepower is a wholly owned subsidiary of B&O.
why do you want your computer to remind you of an overpriced car you won't ever be able to buy? its like alienware making their laptops look like they're some science fiction toy . . . whywhywhy
@bolezhinkov I own a Lamborghini, i would buy this
Is it only me that thinks that this laptop is ugly... I don't think I would want to have laptop looking like that...
Look how fast my laptop goes! *drives it around the room*
This is one butt fugly piece of hardware.
No E-sata? No thanks!
According to the press the VX6 is 12.1, not 11.6 as in the article.
OTOH, The VX7 looks overdone but the VX6 looks nice.
@ToniCipriani Agreed. The smaller version doesn't look so Hasbro.
The point of having premium automotive designers help in the industrial design of a product is to have them create something that looks unique but actually FITS for the purpose they are designing for. This design just looks horribly tacky, am I the only one that remembers the old VPR Matrix laptops that were designed by Porsche? They were elegant, simple in design and made sure you knew it was a computer and not just some ugly plastic-looking fascade like this.
Now that's tacky!
Lamborghini with a ION 2 i think not, replace that with an 480m and the name fits
@DefPoet Oh and the atom with an i5
VX6 - pretty sweet.
VX7 - oh dear lord who crashed their LP560 into the back of that laptop?
CORNY!
What's up with Lamborghini allowing this?
I would expect power rangers (more specifically black ranger) to use this as a weapon.
@dswatson83
To each his/her own, I guess... IMO (and apparently most others) that thing looks absolutely goofy/tacky.
lambo-ass
Hey ASUS! I want to advise you something. IT'S FUCKING LAPTOP, NOT A CAR.
ok... where do I put the number plates?
I feel like putting a sticker on it..."My Other laptop is an MSI Beetle"
@SewerShark
(: LOL
Sooo, when does the Ford Expedition model come out next. (:
Ugh, that's really cheesy. You'd look super cool using this in your race-car bunk bed.
I likes. I really likes. the raised back "hood" of the laptop is dope
