The iPhone 4's outer case makes it on camera... in Portugal
iPhone 4 parts just keep on dribbling out of China and turning up around the world -- this time it's the next-gen phone's outer case on a video from iPhone Portgual. The site actually has two cases, which it says were purchased by a reader in China, and while they look genuine enough, we obviously can't tell for certain whether they're real. In any event, at this rate we'll have enough leaked parts to assemble the entire damn thing by the time Steve takes the stage at WWDC to announce it in a few days -- or hey, maybe he'll just show it off at D8 tonight. Either way, we'll be there. Videos after the break.

@blairy dido, better iPhone experience or I'm moving on in oct as well.
@blairy
You've not been forced to have a 3.5" screen.
I wonder what planet some people live on.
@suicidebob
2 year contract. Yes I have been forced.
Look, I love my iPhone. But when October comes I want a bigger screen. Bottom line.
@blairy
You signed the contract. Unless you're going to claim somebody held a gun to your head, the answer is no, you weren't forced. Additionally you could pay the fee and get out of it any time you wanted. You're just bitching.
A lot of people do think a 4.3" screen is too big, read some reviews some time. It becomes unwieldy at that size, and we are talking about a mobile device here that needs to fit into any size pocket. For people that prefer bigger screens, there are other phones. I don't think Apple is going to change, because they got it pretty much exactly right when they settled on 3.5".
screen is so small what's the point of such high resolution? will there be a pro model or something with a little bigger screen?
@senormatt
No. And 3.5" isn't "so small", either. The point of higher resolution is to get closer to print quality text. That resolution on that size screen is about 330 ppi, which is very close to actual print quality, and far higher than any other phone out there. You think text looks good on an Incredible? You ain't seen nothing yet.
This new iphone(watever it is called) looks like a HTC design with less rounded corners. Iphone 3GS looks better than this. 3GS looks gorgeous and this new one has seams on the border which isnt attractive. It doesn't look like an Apple design. I wonder why Apple went with this new design. Atleast they should have changed the screen size.
That was the design w/ the screws at the bottom. Man I hope that the final version doesn't have the screws. Like the protype we saw from the BE Geek leaked photos.
@EagleyeSmith
Doesn't the current iPhone 3GS have screws?
http://www.fonearena.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/apple-iphone-3gs_2.jpg
@Michael Scrip
No, I wasn't talkin' about the 3G/3GS. I was talkin' about the new iPhone 4th Gen. Engadget had an article about the new iPhone that showed a prototype that didn't have screws at the bottom. Unlike this prototype that does have the screws at the bottom.

Now when u guys say, he might show off the Phone on D8 .What is the probability.
@viditb
Zero.
they need to do something about those leaks especially the Mexico gulf leak :P
Anything we didn't know?
new iPhone > any phone ever created
iphoneportugal.com could be suspended (right, Steve?) ...but at least he has been introduced to Portugal now. Speaking of introduction... how about start selling the Ipad here (in Portugal), and not only on our iberian neighbours.
I wonder what will be the next country to have a prototype (almost every continent are covered now! Talk about world spread!)
There is already a Camfrog app for iPhone. I bet it's waiting for vid chat on iPhone 4.0
the sexiest phone ever created! nice work Apple.
I'd laugh if Apple is just fucking with everyone and releasing all these "prototypes" into the wild to get people off their scent.
Waiting for a UK leak now..
Portgual? Seriously?
There goes another Foxconn worker. :(
Expect next gen's prototype iPhones to have self destruction mechanism implemented if someone tries to open it up.
this is like the sisterhood of the traveling iPhone.
Wow, by the time WWDC rolls around, Job's entire keynote will be leaked. I wonder if Apple still cares about their legendary secrecy after all of these leaks.
So.....WILL IT HAVE SCREWS IN THE BOTTOM OR WON'T IT?!
Geez, Apple. Make up your mind!
@Drummertist
Haha, how is this a priority for anyone? I mean, really.
@ebgolfin I enjoy screwing around, so they are quite a priority for me.
Anyone else notice both of these have the screws at the bottom, near the speaker and microphone?
I thought they were doing away with them, after seeing the prior leaks.
I was seriously considering buying an x10 as my next phone, but seeing this has inspired me to wait just a bit longer. :)
Forget the Foxconn jumpers, I think Steve's gonna visit China and start throwing a few people off the buildings himself!
Steve Jobs called an 'OEM profit bloodsucker', supports foxconn & death
@Xing
Sell your crazy somewhere else, nobody here is buying.
OMgosh the time is getting near, I can hardly wait! My contract expired today, two years I have had my 3G and I just dissembled it to put a new battery in so its literally like new. I want a 4th Gen now!
www.anon-posting.at.tc
HTC EVO 4G all the waay come Friday.
Thank god I sold my 3GS last month!!!
This new iphone totally blows ....
@bhagiratha
This iPhone? The one you still know basically nothing about?
@Jack
Don't be so sure about that my friend. -:)
@bhagiratha
You're right, I should just assume that you know everything about it, rather than assume you don't. But what the heck, why don't you enlighten us? I mean if you're going to be all cryptic and everything.
@Jack
Rules and policies are just what they are, can't break them.
sorry guys ... you will just have to wait until Monday.
Cheers!
What's next, nerdgasms over leaked battery photos? iPhone 4G leaks are old news.
After seeing it next to the iPad, i'm convinced its fake. If you look at all of apples aluminum products (the MacBook, iPad, IMac, keyboards), they all have the same texture and color. This thing isn't even close. I thought the whole idea behind the aluminum construction was to limit the amount of parts need to build the product. With this thing, just the frame itself is made up of c.20 pieces and even the aluminum (or whatever it is) part itself is made up of separate pieces instead of one single piece which is not characteristic of apples aluminum unibody products. Apple designs products to fit in ,visually, with the rest of there product line. This doesn't even look like it was designed by apple. Also, there are just to many leaks.
Apple continue to suck - http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/06/01/apple_boots_widgety_apps_from_app_store/
"How can a company be prepared to invest into a platform that can change at any time, cutting you off and kicking you out, with no course of action but to whine on some no-name blog," he writes. "There is no alternative platform, despite what others may say about Android, it’s immature and their app store(s) are a wild west nightmare. It really is Apple’s way or the highway, and that really stinks. Badly. Very badly. Apple is the angry queen from Alice in Wonderland, screaming 'Off with her head!' and we have little recourse but to watch their pack of card minions execute those orders."
I will NEVER get an iPhone until Apple allows flash!

Poland...where is your leaked stuff?
There's something more to those vertical black lines on the outside of the case. You can see they pass all the way through the outer metal of the case and are more than just superficial aesthetic touches. Also Apple has never been one to add extra lines for the sake of aesthetics. They serve some purpose though I'm not certain what. Apple did file a silly patent not too long ago to ID users based on heart rhythms that used metal plates on opposite sides of the iPhone similar to the metal grips on exercise equipment at the gym. Maybe the black lines define the separate pieces of metal that make up the outer case and thus act as the separate metal plates mentioned in the patent?
Let's call this the MechanoIphone
Why are those unsightly lines still around the edge, isn't that totally against Apple unibody obsession atm. Very untidy...
