Nikon's got a coffee-toting zoom lens, too
Canon's thermos was fantastic and all, but we've gotta say -- Nikon's the one widening our worldview. 24-70mm, f/2.8, contents may be hot, now available for preorder at the source link.

That's so much better than the Canon one.
@DarthMaul What in the Maul are you doing here?
@DarthMaul Especially in low light.
@DarthMaul Looks to me like a cheap zoom lens you buy from Best Buy.
I have to get one, would looks so funny on public transport
about to break the record for "the most stolen mug of all time".
Oh, look. Nikon sez "me too!"
I love how in the description it says
This is NOT an actual lens! You can NOT attach this to your camera, and it is mug that can contain hot liquid.
lol.
@marsel Tell that to thieves. "Hey! I think he took my coffee cup!"
Next they'll be used to smuggle dangerous fluids onto aircraft.
New rule: lens caps off all lenses while we paw your possessions.
@BuzzMega Right, because the xray can't see inside it. Ever see a lens xray? It looks quite distinct from a bottle of liquid.
@Jayratch TSA folk are not optical prescription analysts. A few acrylic elements and you're good to blow. Best strategy: twist all zoom/focus rings, mister.
$50? too much.
Hey, all you middle school kids using "gay" as a derogatory . . . why don't you either learn a new insult, or go post comments somewhere else?
thats a joke. just like nikons.
@(Unverified) The lens that this resembles is a very good lens. Heavy, but very good.
Don't be a troll.
Hot
@Smart People Play Tuba stop bleeding all over the comments section.
"Hey bro, let me take your picture." *pours boiling hot Earl Grey tea on face* "LOL."
I like it, but it looks like it could get knocked over a lot.
Granted, it has a lid, but that small base is something that I'm not liking about it.
The novelty has gone
Damn, that thing sold out FAST. And I didn't even get a chance to think about getting it.
I looked into this earlier this morning over on Nikon Rumors--I think Nikon should officially have these made because it would be the hotness. I'm kind of leery about the guy on Ebay that is selling them though--something about he was pre-ordering and several comments on giz believe the guy might be trying to scam people because the delivery date would be outside of Ebay's buyer protection term. Also a few people think that the mug is a photochop...
Either way, I'd buy one.
Looks like a photoshop to me... hope those that ordered actually get something.
Sold out. Most of the original sellers of the Canon are sold out too but if you search eBay you can find numerous sellers of the Canon now, both the 'original' and a 'new version' with working switches and such. Assume all of these are knock offs at this point but who cares?
Really handy for ebay scammers :)
Or really useful for DIY projects :)
@mex
DIY would be cool, but I dont think its worth the investment in a lathe.
Already have the Canon one and love it long time. Although it is starting to wear down mighty quickly... and I sure do drink a lot of coffee. ;-)
