ASUS Eee PC 1015T strolls into Computex with AMD V105... we think
So, here's the thing -- there's no denying that the Eee PC 1015T, based on model name alone, is brand new and heretofore unknown. But what's really under the hood? As the story goes, this here machine was spotted lurking in the rear of ASUS' Computex booth, complete with a placard that informed us of its 10.1-inch glossy display (1,024 x 600), AMD V105 processor, an ATI Radeon HD 4200 series GPU, room for 4GB of DDR3 memory, 250/320/500GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, optional Bluetooth 3.0, a 6-cell battery and a few color options. But strangely enough, it seems as if the hard drive had been completely wiped, with only a brief boot-up screen informing us that this machine was an engineering release meant not for public use, and that NVIDIA parts were within. Hmm. In all honesty, we're guessing that ASUS simply had to rush this particular unit out to make it before the show's start, but we wouldn't go placing bets either way -- for all we know, the final version will get outfitted with a Core i5, Ion 2, inbuilt WiMAX and a Vmedia drive. Yeah, a Vmedia drive.

That looks pretty nice... Asus always has great netbooks, can't wait to see how this one performs.
@Jinn35
Name made me think it had AMD X6 CPU... (1050T)
@Jinn35 Yep, and I'm sure its price will be minty sweet as well. http://j.mp/1015t-3e-revealed
pretty
OMFG.... at last... a real 10inch netbook, with HDMI, a proper GPU, DDR3, USB3.... They could offer better screen resolution but it's ok. The only thing that worries me is the V105 processor... Hopefully it's something better than the Atom in terms of performance.
I could pay till 500 euros for a full featured 1015T
@Corsair
yeah im totally with you on this
@Corsair Yes, a real netbook ... with a glossy display ...
Perfect for anywhere you have control over lighting and for vampires who can't go out in the sunlight anyways.
@YuriTenshi
well nobody is perfect! I guess u r right for the glossy screen but it's not such a big deal compared to all the good stuff introduced to netbook class by Asus...
Keyboards are so....2010.
personally I sense a bit of a backlash forming against Intel with their self imposed spec limitations of the atom platform amongst other things, I think the "netbook" is dead as it's trying to grow into the small and slim formfactor but Intel isn't letting it
look at the mess the graphics chipset specs have done for laptops with core i5 and i7 too, you must have Intel graphics too, forcing nVidia to work around it and use an MXM, Apple to do something similar. limiting what can be done with size and space if they want an Intel cpu.
There's renewed rumours of Apple in talks with AMD and I don't blame them personally, this crap Intel is pulling is starting to harm consumers.
someone explain how this isn't monopoly abuse?
@Gonzie I think Intel is fairly notorious for bending and breaking rules, pushing the boundaries of fair practices. However, it's not like we have a system that is *typically* fairly responsive to, or even necessarily aware of, some of these facts.
A netbook with HDMI and a decent GPU....if the battery life can hold up... I might have to toss my 1005HA for this.
@Kyusaku
**nods** Don't worry you won't be the only one.If this model can in fact match or even exceed on paper expectations finally I myself would want to get a >proper< out of the house 10 incher.
God damn that resolution. Enough already, way past a joke now, stop it, stop it.
I don't care how fast this might be based on the internals, that screen res made me cringe.
When is the eee pc with e ink display coming out?
You would think that by now with the given upgrades, they would include 1366x768 res. I am disappoint.
I'm ready to throw my money at you, just tell me when.
screen res sucks and the 1.2ghz processor doesn't excite... a dual core atom with nvidia would probably be better than this solution... such as the asus eeepc 1201n...
@rizeljamn35
yes but... I wouldnt consider a 12incher as a netbook, despite the fact of an Atom CPU. Netbooks are supposed to be small... not more than 10inches.
AMD shampoo? Wow! What will they think of next?!
Glossy and 1024x600... Yeah, I don't see me getting all excited about this.
