Samsung teases next Android announce, Galaxy S bound for T-Mobile next month?
It's no secret that Samsung wants to spread its high-end Galaxy S far and wide, but the exact details of its US attack have been a mystery thus far. TmoNews is reporting a "trusted source" as saying that the phone is pegged for a launch on T-Mobile on July 21, which matches up with some chatter we've been hearing as well. Though T-Mobile's been supporting Android as aggressively as any carrier in the world, the company lacks a hero device -- something akin to the Droid Incredible or EVO 4G -- so it would stand to reason that Samsung's best Android gear to date would be a good fit over there. Nothing wrong with a Super AMOLED display in a sub-10mm shell, now, is there? In the meantime, we've been invited to an event on June 29 to see "the next generation in Android smartphones" from Sammy, so we're hoping for some more details then -- and naturally, we'll be on hand.

Two weeks after the release they will drop support for the device and release a new one instead.
I want that big ass Sidekick re-load with the 4.3 inch screen and snapdragon nextGEN. Never liked anything from samsungm much.
*shrugs* Sadly after finding out Samsung's upgrade policies....pass.
The really sad thing is people will buy it not knowing this.
@John Doe Yea. Beautiful device, horrible support..
AT&T!!! OMG!!! U FUCKIN SUUUUUUUCCKKKK!!!! If u dont get this Phone AT&T Im leaving Ive been off my Contract for 3 years. Yes 3... why am I still with them?? because they lie to me constantly!!

NERRRRRRRD RRRRRRRRAGE!!!111!
@Psyclotr0n Loud Noises!
Kind of late since the supposed release date is July 11th, but the Intercept for Sprint could be announced at this conference as well.
@Dandmcd why does this look like a made up add?? Like u know a Fake one **cough** photoshop
i dunno the stats and everything... but is this phone's screen display supposed to be better than iphone 4's?
@threetee14 i think the iphone4 has a better resolution but the glaxy has a brighter screen with the amoled screen.
@threetee14
it's got FAR better contrast and it's brighter - obviously we don't know about touch sensitivity of either
yawn
I hear that galaxy s or some variant is fcc certifed for at&t bands, and samples are in tester hands, right now. that would be a significant android move for t. where is samsung on that? is this some big secret or something (shades of apple) ??? isn't samsung planning a worldwide launch? can't someone confirm this, or does some dope need to lose one in a bar (i'll buy rounds, if that's what it takes)?
good grief !!...i'm impressed by the discipline...sammy tight...apple sloppy drunk...
Wonder if the Rentia is better than super amoled...
@TheSunman89
Don't be silly
@TheSunman89
Make sure you pay your rentia or you'll get super amoled.
If anything the pinkish(magentish?) glow in the pic proves it! *semi-sarcasm*
OMG ! what a 's'uperb presentation ! Feels like Samsung has the future in its hands ..They make all the important pieces of hardware !
After the crap Samsung pulled with updates for the Behold(?), there's no way in hell I'd even consider buying anything from them.
I would never waste my money on another Samsung device. It's pretty but my EVO a straight beast it eats little kids u know
This is going to make quite a lot of tmobile users happy if they do have this on their service. I think it has a perfect form factor and the super amoled draws you in.
Iphone 4, Evo, Galaxy S, Incredible....a lot of great phones finally in the U.S.
To bad samsung don't keep supporting their phones. Talk about fragmentation. I give android another year to work on this.
No thank you.
Anyone but Samsung.
So, what's the advantage of this over the Nexus One, which is already shipping and guaranteed to get 2.2?
Don't buy Samsung if you expect to receive any software updates for your phone. Ask any Behold 2 owner, they will tell you how wonderful Samsung is.
@ys ya, I'm very tempted by this phone, but the way Samsung treated Behold II owners with upgrades worries me.
I barely know much about Android (Palm/Nokia guy here)... but can anyone help me out here?
-is rooting an option? How much OEM interface do you lose?
-I think I read of a Pro version that had a physical keyboard; is that still coming out?
@motionmonk1
If you want Android, get the Nexus One. That's the only phone that you can expect to be updated, because that's the Google development platform. With any other Android you're at the mercy of manufacturers and carriers that just don't care.
@samsung
update my galaxy you bastards
@mrqs Well, this IS the update. ;) You just have to buy it. Really though, this has been the way things goes for cellphones, to get the newer OS, you have to buy a new phone.
This phone needs a flash and a front facing camera asap. ;/
@Kuro01 Wait is that.. a camera on the front next to the speaker under "Samsung"?
No camera flash means blehhhh
So close to an absolutely perfect super phone!!!!
@Johnny Rockets I agree that is the ONLY thing holding me back.
