Toshiba refreshes Satellite low-power laptops in the UK
If you had your eye on a CULV-toting Toshiba Satellite ultraportable, you might to wait another month before coughing up the change -- Pocket-Lint says the mysterious new Toshibas from Computex are actually updates to the T110 and T130, and both are getting a sizable upgrade. Whereas 2009's low-end lappy settled for a Celeron chip, the Iron Man Metallic T210 (pictured above) has a dual-core 1.2GHz Pentium U5400 powering that 11.6-inch LED-backlit display, and the 13.3-inch T230 is back in black with a Core ULV i3-330UM and a 500GB hard drive. Both feature Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 802.11n Wi-Fi, chiclet keyboards and the usual array of ports, and both claim a very respectable 8.5 hours of battery life on a 6-cell battery's charge. No word on pricing or stateside availability (like that drool-worthy 3D Dynabook) but astute Brits should find them in stores next month.

that's actually a nice looking laptop.. which is all that matters at this point..
as long as there is no trashy graphic on the screen's back..
@samisax
it's the best looking laptop Toshiba ever made, but it's still not saying much
Who in this country is going to "cough up change" for a refreshed PC with the dire economic situation such as it is? Don't you think that they will eventually figure out that a trip to add/remove programs and a disk cleanup/defrag will restore the performance of their PC?
In spite of the face that I am "Sinick," I actually feel that in this self-reliant country of ingenues, somebody would eventually figure this out. But no, until this happens (with no interaction or thought required) while simultaneously watching American Idiot on the telly, nothing will change.
BTW, Nothing against Toshiba.
@Sinick
Find me one company that doesn't have a single refreshed product in their lineup. Everyone, from Dell to Apple, updates their current machines without completely redesigning them. This is nothing special, and certainly nothing to get worked up over.
@Dafrety
I know, right. Ha, come to think of people certainly have no problem waining forgetfulness when the new Iphone/Ipod/Itouch 'reinvents' itself every several months and 'cough up' their monies to obtain it.
Looks pretty smexy, if ask me (and I am a Toshiba laptop owner so I like their style).
What's this? Toshiba actually designing a computer with a port layout that makes sense?
Inconceivable!
