New Xbox 360 gets official at $299, shipping today, looks angular and ominous (video hands-on!)

If you're in Europe, don't fret, as yours is coming soon. Microsoft's official Xbox Twitter account has confirmed the console hits there on July 16.
Update: We just got the official fact sheet, check it after the break. Oh, and we're calling it the "Stealthbox" to keep all the models straight. It just feels right, you know?
Update 2: According to a Microsoft representative, the Xbox 360 Original will still be sold while there's stock, but they're not making any more of them. Once they're gone, they're gone -- and we'd assume a new $199 variant of the new design will eventually be released to fill the void.

@max1001 No...It's $299, 250GB HDD and now built in 802.11n capable WiFi. The Elite was just $299 with a 120GB HDD and no wifi..Durrp.

I think it would really help microsoft if bloggers would stop calling this SLIM because it's not skinny. It's the same size but smaller. so it should be mini. Besides microsoft said "redesign".

HMM xbox looks going back to their roots i like i like the old xbox had curves like that they are finnaly rspecting the amazing look of the original instead of the pussy white smooth version that i sold to gamestop i will be buying this for christmas so i can play halo reach

1. So where's the hard-drive? Will it be built-in now, non-upgradeable? Can people use the existing (expensive) hard-drive add-ons?
2. They said wifi-n, while pointing out the previous model as having ethernet. So, will the slim not have ethernet?
3. Will it still ship with composite cable?
Somebody should take a shot at the back of the console to see what ports it has.

If they run some deals on the 120gb "regular" xbox this year around Black Friday, I might finally cave and pick one up. Price is looking a lot more tempting now.

Most of people here thing its a new Xbox? If not, Obviously i think PS3 delivers better entertainment than this for the same price. Please decide yourself when buying any product like this.
Does anyone kno if they added a web browser? And what about rrod? It's hard to imagine a new design and old problems, ever since my xbox rrod me I held off and got a ps3 slim now I will get a xbox slim lol hahaha this is sweet!!!!

The camera/mic bar is nice though I will give it that. Personally I believe anyone who has seen God of War III knows which system is still the big dog out there.
@biglarr420 I originally got my PS3 for blu ray, but with netflix streaming out there and working so well and the lost cost associated with that, its kinda like blu ray is becoming outdated even before it is really main stream.
