Kinect priced at GameStop: $149, $399 for Elite bundle
Microsoft didn't say a peep about Kinect pricing at its E3 keynote, but GameStop isn't being shy: Kinect is now listed on the retailer's website for $149.99. The page is dead if you try to click through from search results, so it looks like the listing may have gone up in error -- we'll see if this is the real price come November 4. We'll let you know if we can confirm anything.
Update: And the hits keep coming: GameStop is now listing a $299 "Arcade Bundle" which obviously pairs a $149 Kinect with the now-$149 Arcade, as well as a $399 Elite bundle that seems to pair a $149 Kinect with the older Elite, which is now $249. So where's the bundle with the hot new 250GB Stealthbox? And are these the real prices? We'll have to wait and see.
Update 2: And now Walmart's confirming the November 4th ship date and $149 MSRP. C'mon Microsoft, what are you waiting for?

Yesssssssssssss
@angelusp
EXPENSIVE.
150 + 300 = 450 ?!!
@potretr
$99 would have been much better. Oh well, next summer maybe.
@angelusp
Noooooooo.
$149 is too much for what they showed this morning.
@potretr I was originally thinking that this was expensive then I realized how much I spent on a Logitech eHarmony controller. If they were able to simply ad some universal remote feature to this, it would be totally worth it in my opinion.
@Paul Elmy
Facing me in Star Wars Kinect = Priceless
@djt There I go sucumming the mass marketing of a dating website and calling my controller an eHarmony instead of just a Harmony. Too many radio ads have clouded my brain!
@angelusp $348? Really guy?
@angelusp Fail addition, you missed a hundred carrying over. It's $448.
@potretr
i bet it comes bundled with the new slim for 399
@angelusp Simple Maths fail.
@angelusp:
299+149=348
Embarrassing. Where did you go to school? I want to make sure I don't send my kids there.
Is this for hardware only? Does it come with a game? Throw us a frickin bone here!
@angelusp
You must failed your maths in elementary school.
EPIC FAIL.
@angelusp
I really did LOL.. Dude you need Kaplan for real, your math skills are ultra shitty
@angelusp its $448 not $338
@potretr what a rip off !!!!
@angelusp
Oh and by the way.. Downrank pressed, instant oblivion.... LMAO
@angelusp HAHAHA, OH WOW.
@potretr
I recommend you guys buy your electronics from costco or somewhere similar due to the fact that there products have endless warrenty and can be returned anytime for a full refund. For those of you who did buy from Costco i recommend you save your save data to a hard drive and return your 360 for store credit. just keep in mind you have to have all the electronic parts it came with.
@beatboiii
Come on guys, leave him alone. It was probably a typo or something, it's funny and all, but no need to attack him, we all make mistakes sometimes.
@angelusp
It's not stupid :)
It's just a simple mistake. Look in the brighter side, you made people laugh.
@Meekermoloko
I think you can't see to far ahead to what a product can do.
The Shape Fitness and Dance Central are very cool and Fun.
Don't be close minded in what they have at launch.
@potretr it doesn't come out until November, that price is just a stand-in. They won't get it over $99 for sure.
@angelusp
Don't worry about it. Engadget commenters are right often.
You made 5 little men feel good about themselves today.
Well done
so whats included in the bundles anyway?
@potretr
Keep in mind Gamestop is a bundle whore and doesn't sell anything as is. Likely prices after they force you to buy a game.
"You can't see to far ahead"
I think not being able to spell "too" is worse than that math failure.
Too much to slap on a Wii that uses no control onto your xbox?
@potretr dammit... I bought a ps3 because of the free wifi adaptor thing... And now xbox is so much better... Maybe in 2012 now...
That seems like alot to me, but I will be getting the new 360 FOR SURE
@VSpike915
count me in buddy.
This thing AWESOME!!
Because gamestop NEVER just talks out its @** about prices and release dates...
@Flaystus
Exactly they are just asking for free advertising from sites like Engadget who report on this stupid crap.
I didn't see anything at E3 today that would make me pay 150 for kinect.
@Complex
Dance Central is one awesome game.
@Complex
Kinect: Giving in a MUCH MORE ADVANCED WAY the same game play mechanics that came with the Wii.
I don't get it either. I'd love to be wrong but it just doesn't seem very promising for actually... you know.. fun.
@Flaystus I completely agree. Typically I'm on the hype train with these things, but I think this will just splinter the market for the 360. As a more hardcore gamer, I've got other things to spend $150 on.
@Complex I was the opposite. Especially for the exercise games. In the summer I'm out all the time exercising but in the winter I just become a couch slug. So when I was watching this, I was thinking how I could redesign my living room to make it more Kinect friendly. I'll probably be picking one up for the Xmas season. Maybe as a "gift" for my son. :)
Really?
And what does this have to do with phones?
Ehh...if it's that price point for real...I'd be wary of the mass market uptake. Anything south of $99 would surely be preferable.
@edwinsmith
Agreed. I'll probably pick one up regardless, but my experience will be affected by how many others people do the same as the AAA games won't take heavy advantage of the device until there's enough of a market to make it worthwhile.
I wasn't going to get this anyway but at $150 you can forget about it ever.
@Sweet Dude
nothings changed for you then....
@Sweet Dude So, a person who admits he wouldn't buy it at any price states he won't buy it at $150. I'm sure that'll have a big impact on their pricing strategy.
Sounds fair
i think thats prob at the top end of the scale for mass buyers.
Bitch and moan now but most Gamers and casual xbox users will buy it when it comes out. Gesture controls will be the rage this holiday season.
My prediction is itll be sold out everywhere till Feb. Im tired of buying new controllers every couple months. Plus the gesture control is pretty cool IMO. I def see my GF using the new excursive game its like wii fit on steroids and more techy.
@neeko18 WTF do you do to wear out a controller in a couple of months? Obviously you're doing something wrong, cause I've had the same controller since 2007, and the only wear is on the left analog sticks rubber.
