Everything from apple cost about another 1/3rd in the UK for reasons known only to them. I think it's to do with just swapping '$' for '£' without actually bothering to convert it.
@DefPoet Yeah, don't feel sorry for us. We have a choice of 5 networks, ALL of which give us much better 3G coverage than any of the US networks could DREAM of (Orange covers 97% of the population). And I was able to order my iPhone on 15th, first time around, online, for delivery on 24th. And it's sim-free. Not being smug, but I'm not feeling sorry for myself either.
Sony's just released a 15.5-inch addition to its VAIO S Series that not only adds a crucial bit of extra display acreage, but also bumps things up to a full 1080p.

Dear UK citizens,
We feel sorry for you.
Signed America
@DefPoet But aren't these tariffs cheaper then in the US?

Really? Because I preordered a factory-unlocked iPhone 4 without the Apple Store website exploding
@R2 D2
I think it's you who is being lazy, not Apple. The conversion thing has been done to death. Google it
Because people always forget that our tax (VAT) is included in the prices, US isn't (and is lower anyway)

We're just fine over here, thanks.
