Tony Hawk Ride mod actually rides (video)
Face it, you're not still using your plastic Tony Hawk Ride motion sensing game peripheral are you? So why not recoup some of your pride (and $120) by installing your own trucks and wheels and get to pushing some real pavement in the great out of doors? Or skip all that and let someone else explain to the cops that it's not real, "it's only a video game." See what we mean in the video embed after the break.

That may be the only way to make it worth it. I don't think it would be as solid as a normal board.
@FADE
I was expecting for it to at least snap
@Hoo
But it's not even real. It's just a video game.
@SteveBaldmer Damn those next-gen graphics and motion controllers are making real life and video games come closer and closer together. Sooner or later I'll be breaking real bones trying to do nose grinds...
@FADE
Sorry to tell you guys, but this is only for PS3.
The xbox 360 cant handle these kinds of graphics.
@FADE I love our guards in Ireland trying to be down with the kids. Its so cute when they try to understand whats going on but haven't a clue
@uckApple who are you kidding lol.... the graphics processing unit on the 360 is stronger than the ps3 dont believe me go to g4 or go to ign... look at the reviews for both... only thing ps3 got is that blu ray for longer single playing games
@blu3i That wasn't an Irish guard - looks more like a ticket warden with a bunch of Irish kids
@FADE how sad for tony, people will buy a stupid looking guitar controller that doesn't actually teach you guitar but they wont go for the skateboard peripheral that wont teach you guitar either.
@Phily there all the same each 1 as useless as the other
Alternatively, have the xbox on at the same time, and:

Vastly improved.
@SteveBaldmer
It was great but those jeans look painful.
@SteveBaldmer
awesome.
"It's a video game"
"where's the xbox?"
"um, its a new xbox"
how many kickflips until the thing comes apart?
@kid300 Just admit androids ugly
Or someone shoots it into their 50" plasma, and they start sending out leg straps for the controller....
should be still controlling the game
It seems like metal bolts on a plastic interface wouldn't be a good idea for longevity...yet this thing takes a surprising amount of abuse. I wonder what kind of plastic is used for the controller.
What a waste of gadgets !!!!! they smashed a wii, laptop and xbox ! i could have kept those :) even just for parts !
@oringal Geez, it's just some stupid electronic toys. Tens of millions of them have been produced, there's bound to be at least a few of them that will be destroyed in the names of fun and science.
This isn't dissimilar from one of the projects in the Nokia PUSH N900 project from the tail end of last year.
The team behind the hack, the Solderin Skaters, built their own UI and used accelorometers and other motion tracking sensors embedded into the skateboard deck, to feed data via bluetooth back to the N900 device and score you based on which tricks the skater had performed.
There's all the info on them designing and building it to their final prototype testing: http://bit.ly/an8Yeq
Best part: the 8-bit rendition of Slayer's "Angel of Death" playing in the background!
I thought they were going to make it:
-Wireless Glasses
-XBOX360
-Tony Hawk Video Game
=
Real Life Acting out of the Game...
Shouldn't this be Paul's post? lol.
@jmhalder
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
( Total inside joke from last weeks podcast lol )
This video is almost as good as this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKNGGfcPipQ
kinda thought they were being a**holes when they ran in to there xbox and computer.
you shouldn't break your stuff ,you should give it to someone who needs it
@snowrid3r
They're skaters. That's pretty much synonymous with "a**holes".
@snowrid3r cmon man, its just a video game
Ok I have to say that!
ANGEEEL OF DEEEEAATH!
ok...
Great version btw :)
