13.8 hours sounds fair to me
:D that picture is such a load of BS.. sure, everyone goes bubble catching with a netbook in their hand.. it just wouldn't be as much fun without it.
@Michalis
That's what she said
@gargle
There is a blond joke in that picture, I am sure of it.
@Glodokboy That's an ambiguous sexually-charged comment
@Michalis
So that's how you are supposed to use your device? I didn't know you can catch bubbles with it 8-I
@gargle
lol that's exactly how I use my netbook. While walking. The netbook should come with bubbles and pictures of these models so I know just how to use it.
Just look at those photos. They're clearly high on something and it ain't Sammy. Furthermore, I'd like to see this concept re-enacted in a Chinese sweatshop.
@gargle
If you see bubbles while using your netbook, you blew it...
@LordFarkward
If you overuse a certain sentence...
@Michalis
This actually looks extremely enticing. Honestly, I'd take this scaled up to 12" with 1366x768 and ION graphics. 13 hours of life is nothing to sneeze at (if it indeed gets this battery life), and gives you that 'battery comfort' that allows you to confidently leave the charging cable at home. The 13" Asus UL30Vt also had this wonderful characteristic.
An operating system like chrome OS on this would be amazing.
@LordFarkward I loled :)
@geekthree
I saw a hopeless guy doing this in the park but with cardboard. He seems pretty excited about it!
@Ducman69
it seems like that ^^
@Ducman69
"Like, OMG, Mandy stop making all these flies come out of your mouth!" says Mindy, as she swings her new Samsung fly swatter to and fro, trying to rid the world of disease, killing one bubble at a time.
It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it.
@Ducman69
Why did the blonde wave her netbook?
Because she was trying to catch the bubbles.
Get it "NET"book?
@Michalis : Those girls are high.
@Michalis
I like. How much BTW?
@gargle
Please tell me that was an Engadget photoshop joke. Please please please don't let that be a real advertising attempt.
@Engadget "Does this picture look anything like your life?"
Sure, I watch porn with cute lesbians all the time. They blow bubbles too but not with soap.
@MagnetMan
I'd like to be scaled up to 12"
This netbook will make me happy again.
@shitcan If I would see people behaving like this in a park I would think they were smoking crack...
@shitcan only if it comes with those girls
ooo, yes please!
The statistic is highly questionable,,, sammy has been a big liar.
It looks like the girl in blue saved all her sandwich money to buy that laptop.
@cybereal
No need, when daddy's Platinum Card will do just fine.
@cybereal
looks like she needs more food rather then gadgets...
So...where are those bubbles coming from?
@Tes
The notebook of course. It's magical...
STILL 1,024 x 600? Seriously??
@henrytai72
It's a bloody netbook, not a laptop!
@henrytai72
not to mention the 1.83ghz processor, the same as my 4 year-old macbook. This isn't a pro-apple post, rather, an anti-netbook post. I just don't understand why people are so willing to pay for underpowered specs.
@TomSawyer
I'd rather question the need to run Windows 7 on a netbook rather than the use of lower-powered components.
Using something more akin to a mobile OS, be it Android, MeeGo, Symbian, WebOS or even an Ubuntu distro I could make do very well with the equivalent of an Atom and 1 GB of RAM.
With Windows 7 under the hood I'd rather pass on that hardware though. Not that it doesn't run fine with 1 GB of RAM mind you, it's just that I've come to expect a lot more from an computer running such an OS than what a netbook offers.
@Exodite
Gah, one too much 'rather'.
Some convenient post editing functions perhaps, or at least a preview? *sigh*
@TomSawyer
Because it's not the same price as that Macbook was when new.
I like the girl on the left.
@Azlew
I'd totally hit that. Err.. Netbook.. with.. err.. applications and stuff.
Those girls are demonstrating its the most fun you can have with 10.1 inches.
We gadget freaks must really be pathetic bunch that the OEMs needs girls on their Ads to get us to buy things.
@Infinity Yeah, because no other industry uses sex to sell their product.
Holding the netbook in one hand while typing with the other shows where a tablet is > than a netbook. That must be the ergonomic position mentioned in the press release.
Netbook? I thought they were being phased out and being replaced with leisure-focused tablets! I guess there's no harm in retaining a bit of nostalgia.
Magical?
Damn hippies.
Sure this isn't a PhotoShopped old ad for Virginia Slims? Look at those hands...
Haha, isn't that *Battery* Park in Lower Manhattan? Sure looks like it.
Wow... so much fun the ladies seems to have..... but blowing soap bubbles?...really.
Good job on the part of Sammy marketing having the images depict the women blowing bubbles in the park instead of, say, having a picnic. There's no way I would have bought into the ad with either of them picnicking what with them both looking so Olive Oylish.
