Dell Streak's supposed US packaging is gorgeous, unboxed with elegance
Well, the Brits ain't gonna be happy when they see this in the AM. What we're looking at here is presumably the Dell Streak's final US packaging -- a far cry from the cardboard boxes that the Englishmen are given (and let's not forget the silly photoshop error on the top). If the features list is correct, this five-inch Android phone is definitely headed to AT&T's 850MHz 3G band for now (hang in there, T-Mobile fans). Other than that, the accessories and the phone itself look identical to what we've got in London, but we totally wouldn't mind getting hold of this sexy acrylic box -- it'd make a pretty cool cradle, don't you think? Head over to the source link to feed your eyes.
Update: Here's another found on eBay. [Thanks, Johnny S.]

@hated one
If Apple's products were as great as you think they are, they'd be able to fix your atrocious grammar.
The box looks so nice I probably would leave this beast in the box!
as a person who brought the uk version why does it matter about packaging it is what is inside. i just rip the box throw it on the side forget about it and played with my new toy
@Ducman69 Genius !
why the second comment always has to a reply ?
"Well, the Brits ain't gonna be happy when they see this in the AM"
Too right we're not!
I don't care how nice the box is I will never buy a dell again....ever!
july, what and how much on a new 2 year contract
Sexy!
Screw ATT their network and people suck. The only reason they are popular is because of the stupid iphone. THATS RIGHT! I said what no one else would say... people stink!
Anyway, WTF.
@POZ
My full bars of 3G and my twice replaced phone for just something minor would like to disagree.
@Drybones5 What phone are you using?
supposedly this is a special packaging made for the 1000 beta testers that signed up during some run back in may.
@cqt3
you are correct. this is the packing for the beta user who particpated in this

@25962596 omfg what lucky bastards!
I was going to do this run, but I decided instead to do one more local! gah! if I had known there'd be a dell streak waiting for me at the finish line you'd bet your ass i'd be a top 50 finisher
Seriously you really think i care about a box that was put away as soon as the Streak, charger plug and cable were taken out of it and won't be seen again until i sell it.
I've now had mine just over 3 weeks and it just keeps on getting better i wouldn't swap mine for anything else i absolutely love it and I've just Rooted it and gained superuser permissions to.
I don't care about people comments on the device. After I've done all my research and still like the device I would still get one! About this device I'll be getting one when it's release that's for sure!
It doesn't matter how you package a turd.
Its still a turd. :D
@SCXFAN It doesn't matter how poorly built your mobile is. You'll still buy it, eh?
We are both talking about the fragile, no-reception, yellow screened iPhone 4 now, aren't we?
This five inch mother can browse the REAL internet when updated to Android 2.2. Not just the static internet which Apple restricts you to. And no, there's no App to fix that iPhone shortcoming, sorry.
@SCXFAN Unless you paint it white ?
@HPe : I don't know what bandwagon SCXFAN is on, but I love how you instantly assumed he was rooting for the iPhone.
How many times do you silly Americans need to be told ?
British does not equal English, British is the umbrella term, The United Kingdom of Great Britain is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Much like being both a New Yorker and an American since New York is in America.
@fourthletter
New York City, sir
People from New York and people from New York City are different
@fourthletter
boo hoo
Get WinMo on this thing and I'm a buyer.
Its really interesting comparing the comments on this thread to this one (http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/22/new-iphone-3gs-8gb-features-redesigned-box-with-ios-4/). Both are updates to packaging.
Needs t-mobile 3g bands. This will go great with my evo
android 2.2 please?
So any release dates for ATT, and any projected dates for T-Mobile??
Seems like a lot of wasted space. One of the things I like about Apple is their minimal packaging.
Dell's is big just for show.
@ColinMcGraw Dell is based in Texas where everything is bigger...
I think this is the right size for a tablet. Nice screen size but still pocketable (unlike the iPad).
Definitely a packaging blunder. All that empty space decreases packing density and increases shipping costs.
Or maybe they aren't planning on shipping that many?
What phone is in that vile tub, sorry "sexy acrylic box"... certainly doesnt look like the Streak I have.
From this and the Ebay link I get the impression that box comes with it?
Is so, how does it fit in the cardboard box?
I've never used an unlocked device. Can anyone explain whether or not using my current sim card from ATT will provide: voice, data, both?
it has been said before, but when this thing has at least android 2.2 and is released on T-Mo, i am throwing down my 5 Benjamins.
Looks nice, but I won't be getting one since I already have an android phone. Dell needs to release a full-size android tablet.
I NEED YOU DELL STREAK!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!! WANT IT NOW!!!
This "Brit" is utterly unbothered by expensive-looking wasteful plastic packaging that'll end up in landfill. The low-volume, recycled lightweight cardboard packaging is all that's required and is more in tune with the European way anyhow. I can see how big, bulky clear plastic sheet can be an attraction for some, though...
ok,it is July, where is mi Streak!!!!!
I don't know where Richard Lai got his information from, but this is not the US Dell release box. This box/Dell streak is for the 1000 people who are supposed to be beta testing the dell streak prior to release date here in the US. Obviously they are doing an injustice by not testing the phone instead they are selling it on Ebay. If I were Dell I'd get those phones back...
Oh and Richard you pulled the photo off StreakSmart.com which even explains that there. LOL
