Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"As someone who doesn't reside in the USA, I was wondering what would be the best way to get internet for my computer in the US for a couple of weeks? If it were Europe I know I'd look for some prepaid data. Is there anything similar offered by American carriers? A MiFi or a data SIM that I can tether from would work, but I'm trying to maintain a tight budget. Help!"
Net Neutrality in the USA = Govt control under this socialist President. Think not? Then ask yourself why are they trying hard to redefine broadband as a public utility! If this occurs get ready for taxation and legislation. Any and all public utility falls under govt control. There is an old saying "Do not cutting off the nose to spite the face".
Enjoy your ignorance my fellow americans....it will come back to bite YOU!
@nastro Do you know what socialism is or are you just regurgitating what Papa Limbaugh and Mama Palin taught you?
@nastro You can't even speak english properly are you really from America ?
You don't know what an actual socialist is either and watch way to much Fox News.
Do not feed the troll
@Slvrgun
You do know that the federal govt has the right to regulate all public utilities?
If they cared only about "net neutrality" why try to change broadband into a public utility?
Have you read the news about proposed taxes on the internet?
@nastro wow you really fired up the libtards. I love how they don't bother to refute anything you say. They just talk about your spelling and grammer, throw in some fox hate.
I say engadget if you support the loss of private property rights by all means do us all a favor....move.
@nastro
thats exactly why they are public utilities... not private
Im enjoying how quickly this guy gets downranked
@nastro
Not really. It's a breach of contract. The ISP's job is to move data, and you pay for that. The source pays for that. That's all. By them arbitrarily charging certain "kinds" of data more, they're invalidating all of that. Freely made contracts between free people are the cornerstone of a free society and market. Govt passing laws to protect neutrality are doing their one main function (for once) - protecting the liberties of the people.
@LMLYP Libturds...............Prove me wrong!! Public utilities = Govt control and regulation! If they can regulate, they can tax for reasons that they CAN specify. Prove me wrong!
If you are a private isp and broadband is considered a public utility no matter what you say, the fed can regulate and tax YOU!! Prove me wrong!
@nastro
sweet jesus that honestly doesnt make any sense.
A public utility is funded by the public (government paid for by tax payers) and regulated by the government.
Guess what? government also regulates interstate commerce and corporations! big surprise! everything is taxed. what the hell is your point? did you just realize this or did hearing this shouted to you make you angry?
@nastro Where in the Constitution does it say they have the right to regulate any company?
Hint: Commerce clause is to block interstate tariffs, James Madison said it himself.
@nastro You DO know that Chile, for the first time after it regained democracy since Pinochet's dictatorship, has a right-wing government right now? The actual president is, in fact, listed in Forbes' "The World's Billionaires" at place 437 .... maybe not top 10, but good enough, don't you think?
But one thing is sure, the president is a lot of things, but he's not a socialist ;)
