The
Droid 2's been
leaking out all
over the place in the past few weeks, but it looks like it'll be another month before it officially hits shelves -- we just got these shots from a packaging facility that's handling the phone, which puts it right on schedule for that
rumored August 23rd launch. We're also told that the phone will definitely ship with an 8GB microSD card, and that pricing appears to be $199 on contract and $599 standalone, although those numbers could change. Just a few short weeks left, we suppose -- although give the rate at which this thing is leaking, we're thinking Motorola and Verizon might do well to push that date up a couple weeks. We'll see.
@FrankDTank
HAHA..yeah true but its choice of phone and carrier. Like cars and gas. I have a v6 nissan and use chevron other have a v6 toyota and use shell.
Choice is good BRAH!
@Seven2k
It's so very sad that some people think no options is better than choice. I like being able to pick and chose exactly what fits my needs.
@Dafrety
true...the kool-aid is strong is suppose.
P.s. jinx you owe me a coke (for thinking the same thing about choice and comparing to cars). haha well pepsi...actually coke cause frank is against choice.
@Dafrety: "It's so very sad that some people think no options is better than choice."
I see what you did there :)
I really wanna see the Fascinate sooner instead of another Droid, which is less powerful.
@kwonyu80 Ti Omap 3640 > hummingbird
@Edobe Evidently, Ti Omap 3640 < hummingbird. http://androidandme.com/2010/07/news/droid-x-vs-galaxy-s-and-more-with-quadrant-professional/
@Edobe You got it all wrong
Hummingbird > Ti Omap
@Edobe Furthermore, you cannot compare PowerVR SGX530 to PowerVR SGX540.
I like how this phone comes out on my birthday. I have a good idea for a present..
Is it any slimmer than the first one?
@versedout Is that even possible? I don't have a D1, but I believe it was the thinnest phone with a physical keyboard ever. I know it beats my Touch Pro2 by like .2 inches or more. Phenomenal in my opinion.
So were these pics taken underwater?
I have an upgrade available when I when with verizon to get my incredible. We'll see what Droid 2 brings to the table and whether it will be in my favor to get one.
to bad is has moto blur on it, and is not running stock android!
@marcw I don't believe that's been fully confirmed. The VZW rep at the NASA thing said that it was running 2.1 w/ blur simply as a place holder. Until we see a final version booted up, I'm not guessing, but I am guessing that we'll see one booted up on video by the end of this week, or possibly next.
Would be nice if if ran vanilla froyo out of the box though.
I love how people are complaining about too much choice. If you want singular choice go get an iPhone
@AlienSix
It's just the brainwashed iFans, disregard them.
I prefer the droid 2 over the X simply because of the smaller size and improved hw keyboard. Im sure others also feel the X and Evo style phones are a little to large for daily use.
Looks like it's going to be this or WP7 phone with a keyboard. If only MS could tell us when the missing features will be added!
Hi everyone ;)
So, any news on the Milestone 2 (aka European Droid 2)?
