BlackBerry Curve 9300 spotted in the wild again, gets examined in-depth
We've already seen what's purported to be the BlackBerry Curve 9300 out in the wild a few times, but Vietnamese site Mainguyen has now gotten its hands on a unit as well, and given us our most detailed look at the phone yet. That includes a better look at the slightly higher-end elements more reminiscent of the now-discontinued Curve 8900 than the Curve 8500 series it's apparently replacing, and confirmation of at least a few specs (including a 3.2-megapixel camera). Head on past the break for a video, and hit up the source link below

Stop right there... dont eve think of holding that way or you will lose the signal
lets sick the annoying orange on the blackberry..
RIM may end up like nokia...except nokia keeps the same crap software and rim hasn't changed the bb design since 2005...
Why do they even bother making new ones if they aren't going to hardly change jack shit.
It's the Camry/Accord of phones. Boring, yet practical and reliable.
BTW. How do you hold this thing? (That's what she said.)

Word.
It's true the uptake of BB in teenagers is silly. I see them as a business orientated phone one IMO which is better than an iPhone for that purpose. For me the keyboard is too small for my fingers and the icons are not obvious at a glance what they are. I'm not a fan of the RIM OS either it, needs a refresh.
Also how long did it take to load up from cold? Seemed ages!
Wow a 3.2mp camera. :-/
@stringent great texting phones. When 6.0 is out and the browser rocks, what will people say then? " oh yeah? We had it before you and i have turkey call apps!!!!"
Then they follow w something gay like droid or iphone ftw!!!
Gay.
What's crazy is that the 8900 came out early 2009 and the 8500 came out like mid 2009 and already trashed. Absolutely horrible. It's not even like the devices are being replaced by powerful upgrades or anything, it's the same shiz.
Yes.... Apple does this but I think we can all agree that RIM hardware/software is no Apple.
If I wanted to brag about having a new Blackberry I couldn't since they wouldn't believe me since they all look the same.
How about a flat design like the iPhone 4 (w/o the shitty antenna) brushed aluminum body and buttons, gorilla glass and the LED is like the sleep light on the MacBook (where it doesnt show until it is lit.)
Looks exactly like every other blackberry
There's not a thing wrong with berries. Some people don't want the glam. They work and work well.
They did try something different. Called the storm series and the upcoming slider and 6.0.
Turns out most adore the bold type layout. By most i mean those over 22.
I have a droidx and bold. Love them both. Why so many dork haters on here?
Im gonna start engadgetadult.com. everyone has to prove to be 21 or no user id.
@hitdog042 I agree with you completely. There is so much hate here, especially to the non-google and non-iOS phones...
Sorry people to burst your bubble, but the world out there, is not Google and Apple only...
Uhmmm... Blackberries all look alike. 8900? 8500? They're all so similar except for the Storm models... with their goofy SurePress™ clicking screen. Obviously my personal opinion.
Serious question though... How many of you all actually like SurePress™?

Why do they continue to release a phone without an led flash? I owned the BB 8900 was the best curve so far and the last BB that I used with a flash. The 8520 had to be the worse.
The Curve 83XX was a good phone for it's time. The Curve 8900 was a pretty good replacement for your aging 83XX. The Curve 85XX was a good low end BB for consumer, it added dedicated media keys on the top, it's the first BB with a Trackpad, the ommision of flash and a lower megapixel camera. This phone looks like the 8900 on the front with a Trackpad and exactly like the 85XX in the back no flash. For BB fanboys I wouldn't suggest this phone. if you own the 8900 or the 85XX just hold on to them.
WTF RIM.
Well all of you blackberry haters, with your not so smart phones, blackberry owns the smartphone market, even adding up iphone os, android, and Symbian´s market share, wont get to half of the sizes of RIMs market share. they have kept true to the smartphone concept, and not toy like phones, I cant play at my work place, i cant play while driving, if im at home i have my PS3 and xbox360 to play with. So I don´t need an Itoy-phone, that wont get my emails right, wont display my excel attachments, hey... I think its not really smart, I got a 3gs rented when I got my 9700 stolen, and It could'nt handle opening and spreed sheet, listening to music and looking information on google at the same time... so it's not that smart. It is disappointing to see that the 9300 its basically a 8500 with 3g, and I would like to have been wow, by a new design, but hey another reason for not change my 9700. Someone said, blackberrys are the corrollas of cellphones, well I would say they are the F150 of smartphones, powerfull and reliable, but above anything else truly a smartphone!
@DarkDavid For you my friend I would recommend the Motorola Droid or Samsung Captivate will blow the doors out of what you know call smart Phone....
@DarkDavid Blackerry is losing market share by the day bro. RIM will lose out to Apple soon enough.
@XChrisX yeah right. Seems every business magazine disagrees w u. Berry is only potentially in trouble in the us if iphone ever hits verizon. Even then i doubt they get hit that hard as most businesses can't support iphone for mail and server files like berry can.
it looks like... umm, a blackberry!
I will always like the keyboards on the BlackBerrys. (Except SurePress)
BOS 5.0? that's BS... any new Blackberries without 6.0 are DOA at this point...
@brokensticks um. They will get the upgrade starting w storm2 and up. Geez
Don't hold it like that!
@fischju do u live to spam thinking ur funny?gee. Go back to playing your video game.
blackberry mobile phone is too good. and it's feature is better than other mobile phones.

Why the he'll do dey make cell phones without flash on em??? How dumb is that? It's like building a house with no front door
I don't mind that BBs all look the same. Honestly, iPhones are all just flat screens with icons. But why do they bother having multiple models? Is there any practical difference between the Curve and Tour? I've owned both, and apart from the nicer keyboard on the latter, they function exactly the same.
They should pare down, and focus on making one excellent Blackberry.
@greyseal they are not the same. The bold has twice the memory if the tour. 3x as the curve.
@hitdog042
Riiiight... but that's not what I'm talking about. The phone is essentially the same in form and in use. More memory is an incremental upgrade, not a whole new model. If I buy a car, but opt for a V6 instead of the standard 4-cylinder, it doesn't make it a different car.
@greyseal difference lies on connectivity, support, services, and features.
For example a higher- res screen, a better camera, a flash, a better keyboard, a faster processor, more memory, etc. Not all BBs are the same...(=
**Yawn**
In The UK just about every person between 15-20 have a BB. why.. cos cheap to get on contract, cheap to get second hand or on PAYG, but most important with BB mail and TXT being free the Kids love em for sending there million messages a day
All blackberries look the same of course that runaway child the storm looks different and it didn't work for them as much as i think rim is making lame phones people love em and of they make money who cares of course i don't own one...
