Netflix Watch Instantly title search flips on for all PS3 users

Being tied to a disc hasn't made for the easiest Netflix Watch Instantly experience on the PlayStation 3, but it has its benefits, and now that includes the ability for all users to search its library directly on the console. This feature's been available to some for months before it was even announced the Xbox 360 would get parity in a fall update, but we can confirm it's currently rolling out to all PS3 users. It should automatically update the next time you're watching, so just slide left from Instant Queue on the top bar to live the glorious life of title searching that you deserve.

The search bar just showed up the other night for me. I have had the disc since mid June.

Same thing happened to me two days ago- I flipped all the way to the end of the categories, and to my surprise it went to 'search' instead of instant queue!

Thought I was special. But it may have been there for a while and I didn't notice.. So maybe I AM special!

Because of the PS3's upscaling, I think watching Netflix on my PS3 is a better experience than on my 360. The Zoom feature on the 360 just makes non HD content look out of proportion where I don't have this issue on the PS3. But I hate keeping up with that dumb disc. I wish it was discless.

@malexandria1 you can blow up the picture on the 360 without stretching it or cropping the picture, there's more than one setting.

@RichardLawler How? I've use the Window button on the remote and all it does is expand the window by changing the Zoom settings.

I noticed the search feature on my PS3 Netflix a LONG time ago. It must have been very early in the year when I first noticed it. This whole time I assumed that all PS3 Netflix users already had this feature.

The search feature is awesome and I'm glad they put it in for everyone.
