BlackBerry Bold 9780 caught on video running OS 6
This new Bold 9780 is really looking like the real deal, isn't it? The phone, which includes some ultra-minor aesthetic tweaks over the 9700, along with 512MB of RAM to handle the new BlackBerry 6 OS, has been described on paper, caught on camera, and now has gotten the requisite video walkthrough. The video, obtained by Driphter.com, includes some nice WebKit browsing, with fast page loads but some slightly sluggish scroll speeds. Of course, this is still pre-release software, so we'll see where we end up when BlackBerry 6 starts landing on these RAM-bumped devices for reals. Video is after the break.

The phrase "lipstick on a pig" comes to mind here.
@steviejobz
Lipstick: fancy UI
Pig: OS that requires a uber CPU
Now, does that apply to OS 6, Android, iOS, WebOS or Symbian?
and again.. blackbe..ZZZZZzzzzzZZzzz
This is like trying to stop a train with a bullet. Bb is still the number one sold smartphone in north America but those numbers a crashing fast. The balckberry section of our store is becoming as interesting to customers as the Garmin phone section. Its a ghost town. This company lacks excitement and has better bring if they want to survive the "storm" of smart phones rolling in.
@Tipsofme
The funny part is you're wrong. Blackberry sales aren't slowing, they're increasing, just as Android and iPhone sales are.
Knowing what you're talking about FTW. I don't care what the one store you're working at is like. It's irrelevant.
@kenny goo You got any data to back that up? The chart I saw says you're wrong: BB -0.4%, iPhone -1.0%, Android +4.0%. Well, one out 3 ain't bad. Just ain't good enough to be so smug.
@kenny goo what's so funny about this is the "store" I was referring to was a typo. It should have been store's. I monitor sales for 15 corporate owned Tmo store in Dallas Texas. Blackberry sales have dip so much in comparison to other smart phones we just had a visit from a Guy that was flown in from Canada to see why sales where down so much and to see what they can do different to bring sales back up. But you know every thing. And no I wont put if sales stats on a public site about a corporate owned group of stores.
nope. I'll have to pass
*yawn*
Mild improvement over OS5. I want to throw my BB at the wall almost every time I use it it's such an idiotic device. I doubt OS6 will allay that desire any.
FUCK THE PHILLIES
Alright, I'm sold. I really hope AT&T and RIM announce the launch date for the 9780 on Tuesday.
A UI clearly built for power users. Children may find it a little hard to use since it doesn't have as many cartoon icons. The only improvement I could think of would be maybe up the working RAM to a full gig, and add a gig for storage as well. Every other new smartphone has at least that much - what's the problem, RIM?
