XP? Still?
@Mr Blurrycam
xp? and lmao at android. that belongs on crappy phones, not computers.
@Mr Blurrycam
XP and Android is actually a pretty cool combo though
@ok1 Google shitty programming
If your gonna troll, at least make it interesting.
@ok1 Google shitty programming
Unless it's a crappy computer.
@ok1 Google shitty programming
Is that all you do all day? Must be pretty boring under the bridge
@ok1 Google shitty programming
That's funny you say that, last time I checked Android is beating everyones else's ass in the US BITCH! :)
@Mr Blurrycam well that's weird thought android was a phone os and Linux a computer os....
@Mariohd277
My guess is that the Andoid side will be more like a Splashtop kinda thing than a full blown OS.
@Mr Blurrycam
And this is why there aren't any good Android or Windows tablets yet.... they keep fuckin' around with netbooks!
@Mr Blurrycam It's very cool that Acer has put Win XP as a choice. I like Android and think is cool for phone devices, I'd rather wait for Chrome OS to enter the netbook market in Q4 2010, however it's nice to have Android in a notebook to see if you can plug in external USB devices like you do in XP. For example can you plug a External hard drive in Android to play your H.264 videos and and your MP3 collection? If you can't do that, it's good to have Win XP for that purpose.
@Mr Blurrycam better than windows 7 starter.
Mixing the past...
..With the future
Android Xp OS 3.0
@AlienSix If android is the future of PCs, then we are really going to see a very very black future.
@elibi
... if by black future' you mean Google's rather handsome choice of white text on a black background for Android, I'm All For It (at least for smaller devices like phones/tablets/slates)
@DaHarder
You can get the same "white text on a black background" by customising WinXp.
Which Android OS will it have?
Me likes dual-boot
1 GB memory? 3-cell battery? For $375? No thanks.
@MastaQ
Agreed... way too pricy for those meager specs.
This is exactly the approach that manufacturers bent on marketing Windows 7 slates/tablets need to take.
Make either Android 2.x or a WinMo7s the 'quick-boot' OS, and have Windows 7 available for those times when a 'Big Boy' OS is required.
The Best of Both Worlds!
yawn
Can we agree to let xp die?
@Einlander
but remember

and

Not until Windows 7's UI regressions have been addressed.
There's nothing like xp for a platform like this, windows 7 is it but on this acer android and xp is perfect
thinking android, but window xp lame i dont want to feel like im in 2002 back again
You don't need to buy this. Just put liveandroid on your usb and boot your computer up. :|
WTF is up with this company? See, the second model should have been the Aspire 2. Then the 3. And so on. We should buy computers from a company that can't count past 1?
XP is definitely a superFAIL on Acer's part. I've never liked netbooks anyway. Pass.
So... wait... isn't this the same computer/model number that was supposed to house the new N550? The direct linked engadget article says so, and I can't find any other reports of a change in the plans. So is it the dual core? or the same old single N450?
I have been waiting a while to get a decent Android Tablet, or Netbook. but these dual-boot Windows/Android netbooks are pure trash. the reason I want android, is to break free from the x86 CPU. it is a serious battery hog. make a Dual-core Snapdragon 1.2ghz (ARM cpu) netbook or Tablet, and load it with Android.
