I love my iPad, I thought about getting a netbook before the iPad was announced, but liked the idea of a tablet that did not run windows even better, not to mention the iPad feels more responsive than any netbook I have ever used. There are free apps for almost everything I do with it and those things that I cannot do on it I use my MacBook Pro for. Flash is not an issue for me at all, was never a fan of flash to begin with and it looks like website developers are getting the HTML5 hint... If only engadget would release their iPad specific version of the or app already...really the iPhone version looks horrible.
@richb93 I would not use a MacBook that small, my MacBook Pro is a 17" model. The 1900 x 1200 resolution screen is ideal for what I do on it. I primarily bought the iPad for when traveling since it is fairly difficult to open a large notebook on the plane. I have found that I use it a lot more than my full size laptop, even when at home.
@richb93 I use my iPad for a lot more than I thought I would. I installed OS X on a Dell Mini 10v last year and it worked fine just not something that I would use myself. Between my MacBook Pro and my iPad all of my computing needs are met, although since I got the iPad I am thinking about selling the MacBook Pro and getting a Mac Pro for the desk at home sine the MacBook Pro almost never leaves it anymore and I could use the extra processing power when editing large photos or 1080p video, the two things that I really cannot do on the iPad.
@The Madman I do know that... IMHO OSX on an atom processor is horrifically limited, Linux needs more refinement but Ubuntu is actually quite nice for a Linux distro. After years of repairing pc's for a living I no longer do windows... I just think that the quality of net books leaves too much to be desired, the Nokia booklet 3G was as close to a Mac netbook you could get and I thought about buying one of those for a while. Between the iPad and my MacBook Pro I have no other need for anything else and I am very very happy with my purchase of my iPad that I pre-ordered when apple first announced them.

@AlaskanHandyman Apple need to release a MacBook mini, aka netbook. Same design as their current MBs but at a 10" size.

@AlaskanHandyman It's not supposed to be for everything. Supposed to do stuff that netbooks do, i.e browse the net, use a few lightweight apps etc.

@AlaskanHandyman You know, you wouldn't HAVE to run Windows if you bought a netbook, right?

@richb93
No, they do not.
