Refresh Roundup: week of February 11th, 2013

Your smartphone and / or tablet is just begging for an update. From time to time, these mobile devices are blessed with maintenance refreshes, bug fixes, custom ROMs and anything in between, and so many of them are floating around that it's easy for a sizable chunk to get lost in the mix. To make sure they don't escape without notice, we've gathered every possible update, hack, and other miscellaneous tomfoolery we could find during the last week and crammed them into one convenient roundup. Official Android updates

  • Droid DNA: Verizon issued a big dose of fail this week with its first update for the Droid DNA, which continues to lack an option to map the contextual menu button to the recent apps key. That said, users can expect improved WiFi and hotspot connectivity, better audio quality when using a wired headset and correct timestamps for incoming messages in this latest release.   • HTC One S: Three UK has released the Jelly Bean update for this smartphone for OTA installation. [Android Community]

  • Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE: Samsung has announced its Jelly Bean upgrade for the SKT, KT and LG U+ variants of this smartphone. [Samsung (Twitter)]

  • Samsung Galaxy S III: Sprint has issued an update that weighs in at 153MB for this smartphone that resolves calendar sync issues, brings enhanced SMS support and delivers a new version of the voicemail app. While not specifically mentioned by Sprint, the update is also thought to include a fix for the Exynos security exploit.   • Samsung Galaxy Note II: AT&T has released an OTA update for this smartphone that patches the Exynos security exploit and updates the baseband to version I317UCAMA4. [Android Police]

  • Samsung Galaxy S II: Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) is now available via Samsung Kies and as an OTA update for this smartphone at Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile in Canada. [MobileSyrup]

  • HTC EVO 4G: Sprint has released a small security patch for its first WiMAX smartphone. [Android Police]

  • T-Mobile MyTouch and MyTouch Q: A security fix is available for these two LG-manufactured handsets that remain saddled to Gingerbread. [Android Police]

Unofficial Android updates, custom ROMs and misc. hackery

  • Barnes & Noble Nook Color: An alpha build of CyanogenMod 10.1 has been released for those wanting to bring Android 4.2 to this e-reader. [Android Community]

  • AOKP: Milestone Release 1 Build 3 of this ROM was released with support for the international Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II (T-Mobile), Galaxy Note II (AT&T and T-Mobile) and the Iconia Tab A510. Some of the new features in this release include tablet mode and Car Home, along with UI transparency controls, quick unlock and the ability to hide the navigation bar. [Android Police]

  • Samsung Galaxy S II: T-Mobile's variant of this smartphone is now eligible for official CyanogenMod 10.1 builds. [Android Police]

Other platforms

  • BlackBerry Z10: BlackBerry OS 10.0.10.261 has leaked for this smartphone, but there's currently no word of what improvements to expect. [CrackBerry]

  • BlackBerry PlayBook: BlackBerry released PlayBook OS 2.1.0.1526 this week, which includes improvements to the web browser, support for in-app payments, SMS over Bridge and a re-branded BlackBerry World. [CrackBerry]
