The reconaissance round

An ex-soldier has invented a digital camera that's packed into a mortar shell, shot up to 2,000 feet into the air,
and then beams photos back to soldiers while it slowly glides down to earth using a parachute. The idea is that it's a lot cheaper and easier for a soldier to get a picture of of the battlefield ahead of them using this than to send out unmanned drones.
